James has been our absolute favorite since the season started

I KNOW~!!!! I am SOOOOO DISGUSTED!! I figured for sure he would win it all! I hope next year they change the judging and voting some how...they were talking about changing the way it works, so hope they do something, because this is just plain CRAZY!!

I was afraid that would happen. Remember Chris Daughetry? Same thing. Rockers just dont seem to be able to win on Idol but I know James will go on to have a good career like Chris. Thats the best revenge!

I thought I'd TRY to watch one episode a while back. I used to like the show, but the past few seasons have been awful-the best singers always get voted off. Anyway, there was a young kid singing a Josh Turner son. Now, I am a HUGE Josh Turner fan-I have every CD and I know every song by heart. The kid totally butchered it and at the end the judges all told him he was amazing and had nailed it. That's when I remembered why I don't watch Idol anymore.

ohmt-that's it exactly, I quit watching for the same reason. All too often the contestants take a good song and just murder it, then the judges praise their efforts. Ugh. It doesn't matter what song they sing, they almost always add in a lot of screeching--and the judges apparently like screeching!

I was really upset about that, too. He was the main reason we watched, as he could really make any song his OWN! That Lauren.... all she ever did was sing the songs exactly as the original artist did. She never gave it her own spin, never added anything different, and never stretched her voice to hit the higher notes until the last two weeks.

Scotty sings beautifully, but he drives me nuts the way he holds the microphone, and since I'm not crazy about country music, I'm not crazy about singers who are mainly country.

I think Haley is very good, but I am getting just a bit tired of her constant growling.

James was so unique. I always had a soft place in my heart for him, because like James, my very intelligent, very musically talented, and beautiful 8 year old granddaughter has Tourettes. She has a few girls in her 2nd grade class who are not very nice to her. My granddaughter will sometimes make squeaking sounds and sometimes her eyes will squint like James' do, but her symptoms are not too bad. We worry that they will increase when she hits puberty as they sometimes do. But to see her wailing on a song and rocking out... I just keep thinking that James has gone so far despite his disability, and I hope my granddaughter can too.

I know!!!!! I was in complete shock!!!!!

I was so upset I said a few words that I won't say on here..

I'm so upset I don't even want to continue with this season! I was so hoping it would come down to Scotty, James and Casey but then Casey left. Then when they said both the girls were safe I lost it and started tearing up because I love James and Scotty. So at the point I wanted Scotty to go...I NEVER thought James would leave....

I like Haley she's okay...but never wished for her to come this far....and Lauren...DON'T even get me started on her

Did anyone else she how smug she looked when they said James was to go home?! She was just happy to think she wouldn't have to compete with him anymore. All I can say is that James WILL do well. Chris Daughtry got voted off 4th and he has gone above and beyond so many Idols in the past.

So with that said....I'm praying Scotty takes it....

I think Scotty has a great voice but hes way too cheesy for me. He just seems so rehearsed and stiff to me. Kinda like those creepy lounge singers

I do like Lauren and I think she will go on to be pretty big like Carrie Underwood.

I think Haley is very talented but have to agree with the judges in saying what the heck type of music will she sing? Shes just all over the place and I also agree she was screaming on that one song (micheal jacksons song) instead of singing. I am shocked she is still there.

I too am very disappointed. James was one of my favorites, but I think the real shocker was when Pia got voted off a few weeks ago, I was in total shock...she was by far the best singer. I think folks may have gotten tired of her ballads though? Casey was good too...but again maybe people got tired of his growling? I'm with the ones who say Scotty is cheesy....He has a good voice, but we already have a Josh Turner, do we really need another? And I can't stand to watch him sing...he looks like Alfred E. Newman from Mad Magazine. Haley is ok, but I think she should of been gone a while ago and she doesn't seem to have any direction. Lauren I did like from the beginning, she does remind me of Carrie Underwood, but she just seems so immature...When she sang that Shania Twain song weeks ago I'm surprised she didn't go home because it was terrible. Oh well, maybe they should make it like Dancing with the Stars where the judges votes count? But then again, the only judge that ever gives constructive criticsm is Randy....Jennifer is too nice and although I love Steven Tyler, he says the same thing about everyone. I guess I can't complain either as I don't vote. I work when it's on so I have to DVR and watch it the next day. Although I haven't watched every season, but have faithfully watched the past three, I do think this year had the most talent. I think it's gonna be down to Scotty and Lauren...and honestly I don't have a clue who will win it, but I'm hoping Lauren.

I too was hoping James would take it this year. Was very sad when he got voted off last night...actually was very surprised too. Scotty is an ok singer...but to me his voice kind of limits him as there is already Josh Turner who Scotty sounds very much like. Sometimes I don't know what the judges see and hear. Scotty did a baaaad rendition of George Strait's song a while back, and then has been inconsistent since. I like Haley, but she's taking on Casey's growling habits moreso and her rendition of MJ's song the other night was hard to listen to. Lauren needs some more years under her belt . She needs polish and refinement I don't think she's ready. I guess she lost me as a fan when she mentioned towards the beginning of the show that she was into Kelly Pickler and emulates her a lot. Some of her antics seem forced....Kelly Pickler was gullable and it came naturally. I like James as a performer...IMO he doesn't have THE best voice, but he sure has personality, heart and his performance is awesome. It was refreshing at the beginning to see the judges not tearing the contestants apart. But it has also got tiring hearing Steven always give a positive feedback when it's obvious that it was not a good performance. I like Steven, but wish he'd be honest. JLo is in between Steven and Randy. She's not always positive and gives good criticism.....but her and Steven are afraid to be booed it seems. Randy has somewhat jumped on their bandwagon...but he's also the only one that will call it as it is if there is a really bad performance. After watching The Voice. I'd like to see Blake Shelton judging Idol. He's very open, honest without being crude to the contestants.

I am beyond disgusted... really thought about taking a hammer to the tv last night- I was really shocked! I thought for sure James would win it this year. He has done so well all along and yes, loved his story.

I just really had a soft spot for him- he seems like such a good kid and kind person. I think he will do ok too but really wanted him to win this. DANG IT!!

I have a nephew with Tourettes also...

I really really thought Haley would go home- anyone but James! I am so sad for him- he worked so hard and did so well.

Agreed to everything you said! I was so upset...I bawled...he deserved to go all the way. He is far better then the other 3. I can't believe he went home

I love James!!

I can see him doing great things like Daughtry. But I think he lost because people thought he was safe so didn't vote.(I am guilty of this) Just my 2 cents.

I stopped watching after Casey got voted off. Now we're watching The Voice. With James gone now, I don't see any reason to bother even checking in with AI. Call me crazy, but I like singers that I can identify with my eyes closed, and I could care less if they come from the Gap factory like every other pop star these days. Then again, I was disappointed by some of the choices made in the first battle on The Voice too - seems now that the judges are turned around the premise is ruined.

OMG! That just cracked me up!!!!!

I am another that thinks that James should not have gone home and was very shocked that he did!! BUT, all 4 of these singers will go on to have amazing careers. I am from the very beginning a Lauren fan! She is young and a little insecure in her own singing voice, but she CAN sing and she is entertaining to watch and just adorable!

I just have to say, I was so upset when James got kicked off I screamed, all 3 dogs came running to check on me....my hubby opened bathroom dor and asked " Are you okay " LOL, I am still so mad. I thought he was awesome!!!

I was also shocked that James got voted off. Not what I would purchase in the way of music but obviously the most talented and most entertaining. I wanted him to win. I shed a few tears for him as I watched his own tears streak down his face. He has made his mark though and should go on to become famous just as other non-winners have. Although I am a huge fan of country music Scotty just does not do it for me. He is cute in a Howdy-Doody sort of way but I hope one of the girls wins it from this point on. I loved Hailey's rendition of Rolling in the Deep. But I am tired of her growling on other songs and she was not very gracious taking criticism on this week's first round. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Lauren. She is humble and has a great voice. She reminds me of Martina/Gretchen/Tricia in country with a sprinkling of Kelly Clarkston. Yep, I am cheering now for Lauren. And best of luck to James in a future career in music!
