I have a bag of opened beet pulp. It's the non-molasses type. It's been open since June, I think. For a bunch of different reasons, we stopped using it. I'm considering adding this back in to the feed plan to get them more fluids.

Should I just buy another bag as the stuff isn't terribly expensive?

Unless you are certain it has had NO moisture on it at all I would bin it.

I have had shredded beet pulp in the feed room that has sat for a period of time. It will mildew here if not used, due to the humidity in this part of Texas. I keep mine now in a plastic container to keep it dry.

If no mildew it is probably okay to use. You can smell it as well, if it is meldewed or spoiled - it will have a sour smell - odd smell. As Jane has said, if in doubt through it away.

Thanks! There's no change in smell and it's very dry.

I was told it never spoils unless it gets wet, I ordere 20+ bags for over the winter and it never spoiled it lasted me all winter and then some.

Hope that helps.
