Hi and thanks for all of your warm welcomes! I curently have:
1 two yr old colt
1 5 yr old mare
2 almost a yr old mares
The person I got them from said to feed them a quart of grain a day and some hay. I think a quart of feed is too much. All of them are heavy (personal opinion) except the 2 almost yr olds. All of them are not eating much hay. They are also on pasture(well it ws unitl the cold weather came). The pasture has very little grass growing.
I want to do what is right for them. When I bring them into feed the go right for their feed buckets so I know they are hungry.
Oh the little ones are fed grain 2x a day the 2yr old and 5 yr old once a day. And we put out a pat of hay ( timothy and orchard) in the pasture 1x a day. Please advice needed. Thanks
