Plain silly, isn't it? It seems like all people of color think everyone should vote for Obama or they are racist.

These kids taunting her for being racist Probably know NOTHING or understand what Obama or McCain will do. All they see is that a black man is running and we have to support him because he is of our race.

I think that little girl is very intelligent for her age. She checked things out before she made a choice.

During the Primaries, I remember seeing a "man in the street" interview with an African-American woman who said she had a hard choice, should she vote for the woman or the African-American man, and I thought, are those the only criteria on which she's deciding? If she represents the average voter, then all these political ads are a total waste of time and money, they could just post pictures of the candidates and do just as well!

Funny, isn't it, how much knee-jerk nonsense goes on. No thought at all involved, there's a black man running, anyone who doesn't support him is therefore racist. Why? Because it's "their" turn? If Obama is some kind of "token black" candidate, NOW who's being racist?

Racism sure does go both ways

But, choosing to support the "whiter ticket" sure doesn't mean you're a racist... Granted these are school kids that said so, but, this young lady probably knows more about the candidates than the average voter

And GOOD FOR HER to care enough to learn and volunteer. And another GOOD FOR HER for planning to wear it "tomorrow" and standing up for her rights.

Granted these are school kids that said so,
It's not just happening with school kids, it actually happened to me yesterday. I was called a racist at work. My entire workforce votes party line democrat because it is a union job. I do not discuss politics at work, nor have I ever...no fun being the one republican voter out of 26 democratic voters... I just got done recounting this story on another thread, Here is what happened to me yesterday:

I walked into the room and one of my co-workers said "look it's the racist, she's voting for McCain and is from Pennsylvania"...(you know some senator or congressman made a coment that western Pennsylvania is all racist). I am originally from Pennsylvania. This is someone I've worked with for 10 years and I consider my friend, I know he was just trying to be "funny" but I did not find it funny especially since also in the room was another co-worker and dear friend, Marcus, who just happens to be black. I held back and just walked out of the room.

They both know that I am not racist, but it still bothered me and I did not take it as a joke. At the time, my defense was to walk out of the room or I would of flipped out. I did talk with Marcus about it and he told me just let it go, which I did.

As I said on the other thread...the media has done a fine job of dividing this country.

Sonya..........I feel so very badly that in this age and in the U.S. you had to go through that. It's NO ONE'S business who is voting for WHAT or WHO.

Tell them you're voting for Mickey Mouse..........
