I do sometimes cook for our dogs, and used to always do it... I may go back to it. I get so upset by some news stories about what's in dog food and we feed good brands, but still... It worries me.

This is a "dish" I used to make in bulk and then freeze what they wouldn't be able to eat w/in 3-4 days. They all loved it. I would recommend though a dog vitamin if you ware going to take on cooking for them, vs. a commercial food.

Basic recipe is just rice that I cooked in chicken broth or bullion, scrambled eggs, green beans, and some kind of meat (like ground chicken, lean ground beef, ground turkey...). I would add plain yogurt but not to what was going to be frozen. I would add the yogurt to that part after I thawed it out. I also have done it with pasta instead of rice. I liked doing it because I knew it was 'clean" without anything in it that I wouldn't eat myself.

Good luck!

My son, Rodney , said if you email him he will tell you how he makes his. At one time he was making it for his 29 sled dogs. He is now down to 6 dogs. He'd be glad to talk to you. His email is: [email protected]
