Well, it's a little bigger than a mini right now, but still adorable and exciting! I'll post pictures on Wednesday.

Introducing Bluegrass Out of the Blue, a 6 month old Welsh filly! Last Sunday I went with my neighbor to look at some weanlings she was interested in. We decided that we were going to get a youngster or two every few years, train them for hunters, and eventually sell them. We started our first this summer as a two year old, and have been looking to get a new baby to bring along behind him. I had no intention of buying anything, just thought it would be fun to tag along, but this little girl stole my heart

. Lexie really liked the little chestnut, and the lady was offering a discount if they went together so... Bottom line, I finally got my baby! I have been trying for years to breed my own mares with no success, so I feel very lucky to have come across this little one. I think I'm going to call her Bella, we already have a Blue, so that's out, and she needs something more feminine anyway. If anyone has a good "B" name, I am still open to sugestions! She is a brave, curious little one too, she pulled me right up to the trailer, and hopped on after only a little hesitation. I love the curious ones! She has a gorgeous trot, if it ends up being to big for hunters, I may have to train her to drive

. Pictures don't do her any justice, but here she is!

Meeting my neighbor's 37" mini, see she really isn't much bigger!

The two girls together. They are half sisters, and have been together since Bella was born, she is a month younger.

Leia- the chestnut mini is my neighbor's coming 3 year old (I think), who she's hopefully going to get started in the cart next year, she would make a beautiful driving pony. It is hidden under her beard, but she has an awesome head too.

I know my neighbor is really hoping the sister doesn't gray out, although after looking at her today, I'm afraid she might. She has always wanted a pinto

I too have always loved Welsh ponies. I have a half Welsh mare, but she didn't get many of the Welsh traits. I am really excited to have this little one who looks like she is going to have all of the traits that make the breed so beautiful.
