I moved down here a few months ago and I can't begin to tell you how much I love the people, both those I work with and those in the community. It is such a beautiful area! The river is not to far, several lakes around, and I feel like I have a wildlife area right in my back yard,,,uh, actually I think I do. Yesterday I came home from work and there were several deer in my side yard near the woods and about 30 wild turkeys and some other bird in my front yard, I pulled in the drive and only went a few feet as I sat and watched them all.

The first house I found when I came down fell through pretty quick. He was going to rent to me until we closed, but I couldn't have my dogs. Uhhh, don't think so. They say things always happen for a reason and I sure believe that.

I close on this house tomorrow!!!! I am so excited and relieved that that part of my move will be over with. I hate to jinx it, but since it is tomorrow and all paperwork is at the title company, I think we'll be ok.

So I decided on a log cabin. What better place to live in one than TN. It sits on a small hill, overlooking a beautful valley and I have a creek running through the east side. Horses are on 2 acres at the base of the hill, just behind the house where I can sit on my 40 foot back deck and watch them all day.

Get my grandkids here, and it just doesn't get any better.

It is no mansion, but for me it is peace and paradise, and I so love it.

Thanks for letting me share.

Congrats Carolyn. Dave and I tried to move to TN for 3 years and could never get our house sold. We even owned a couple of different pieces of property during that time. Finally gave up - at least for now. My dream now is to someday have a nice camper and spend the summers up there and the winters down here. Now if I can just figure how to have my horses too I'll have it made.

Can't wait to see more pictures once you close and move in.

Carolyn that IS a mansion compared to my house! Its so comfy and cozy I love it! I can also imagine so many Christmas decorating possibilites, especially with that wonderful and inviting front porch. I'm just sitting here going "ooh"! Welcome to the neighborhood and so glad you are happy.

Nice Carolyn, I love the southern feel and waking up to foggy mountains and the people too. My dad is from Kentucky, and I spent a lot of time down that way growing up. I'd love to live in Kentucky one day when I get older and "settle down". Your living my dream now :)

You have my DREAM house!!!

Oh my gosh that is sooooooo cute! I love TN...my family is from Sweetwater/Marysville. It is a beautiful part of the country with such wonderful people. Does it have a barn already on the farm?

Hope you got the paperwork all finished up and it is in your pocket today!!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Good luck on the closing today. Love the house and want to see more pictures inside and out so I can drool.

Love, love, love it!!

on a beautiful place...enjoy!

I am so glad to hear your happy and found a perfect place. Its beautiful, I LOVE log homes. They are all so inviting, and so easy to decorate both interior and out, especially with antiques and primitives. Heck, add a few quilts .... you cant get much more cosy. I would take any log home over a mansion anyday, your lucky to have found such a beautiful one.

It is alllllll done!! Thank you all so much for your good thoughts!

Now for all the work, but I sure do not mind. There was zero landscaping here, my favoite thing to do. Most of the inside is the logs, interier walls are drywall and are all the same color. I am not so much the same color person. Putting a new vanity in the master bath, someone thought teal was a nice color, neon teal at that.

No, no barn, but the property was perfect so I made a few choices. Believe it or not I put up 2-10x20 canapies and they have held, even through several not so nice storms. The fencing is already up. They start on the barn Weds. I will have 1 larger barn, 1 small one for Tango, and 1 more for storage. And all 3 will be made of logs. Someone else is doing the roof and braces, then I'll be doing the logs as I can.

Such a big relief I just can't tell you. If this nasty storm gets through here, I think I'll sleep pretty darn good tonight for a change.
