Hello, I'm new too.

My first post needed to be deleted so maybe I have been properly initiated into the forum?

Unknowingly broke a rule.

We live in Washington State and just getting into mini's. We're excited and although we have full sized horse experience

we're no longer wanting the big guys.

We're picking up our first mini's this week-end if all goes well.

And with a large extended family (sons and their wives and the grandchildren) we're looking forward to having a lot of fun and

becoming a driving crazy family.

I finally found the sale advertisement area on the forum, still trying to figure out how to get to private messages.

One thing I'd love to hear stories about and see pictures of are little kids out driving and around their mini'.

Welcome aboard!

We live in Central Oregon and breed both AMHA and AMHR, plus Shetland.

Which size little horse are focusing on? (If you haven't done so, there are some great northwest clubs you should check out... for ALL sizes!

Hi GrandmaC,

Look up at the top right hand corner of the page and you will see your name with your avatar picture. (Well I see where you do not have a picture...) There is a Drop Down Box there where you will find your messages (PM's).

Welcome to the Forum. Sorry about the deleted thread. What a way to get initiated into the Forum.....

Hi, welcome to the forum. I am also new to the forum but have been into minis for a number of years. This is a great site, and you'll find a wealth of knowledge from numerous people.

My daughter at age 13 broke her first mini to drive and do halter, jumping and obstacle. She did very well, including winning at were then called the Regionals in driving and halter!!

From one Grandma to another, Welcome to the wonderful world of the miniature horse - you will LOVE it!

Have you found the driving forum here yet? (drop down menu at the bottom of the page)

Have fun with your new mini adventures!

Welcome! I think I had my first or second post deleted when I first started...it happens

I plan to train at least 2 of our 4 girls to drive when they get the right age. In the meantime, I'm working on getting them properly trained in basic manners and commands. These are our first horses ever and it's been an amazing adventure since we started just over a year ago.

You're gonna love it!

Welcome from another Washingtonian.

Hoping the weather straightens out so you

can enjoy your venture into minis......

Coming from big horses you'll wonder how

you never 'found' minis, earlier on.

ahhhh, you must be on the wet er, I mean west side.

I'm on the east side of the mountains. Weather has not been to bad over here.

I heard the west side got hail and T storms yesterday.

Hi CJ

I see you have found the LB Forum that I told you about! As you can see, it is a friendly bunch of people who will be happy to give advise and coach "newbies". You might want to check out a couple of books that have been specifically done for miniatures - check out the Tack/Vendor sites and look for Historical Stallions of the Miniature Horse Industry and Historical Mares of the Miniature HOrse Industry - they are fairly current (up to about 2007 I think) but also go way back and have pictures of the horses listed as well as their accomplishments both as show horses as well as breeding horses. The books were written by a gal from right here on the Forum - Rosa Roca Miniatures.

Keep on coming back here with your questions, I am sure you will be given a lot of help.

Hi Stacy, Yes I did find it and thank you for telling me about it.

Tell you what, it's been an amazing adventure and meeting so many nice people

over the site via the forum, phone and emails.

Folks, Miss Stacy was so nice. I had a situation come up and needed some guidance.

This lady dropped what she was doing when I called and talked to me.

Providing a total stranger with guidance and wisdom, who had just called her out of the blue.
