HI all, I am new to this forum. I was advise to ask this question to you all. I am looking at buying a mini stud. I need information on his background. Stout Twister is the sire and Stout Silver Dream is the mare. Does anyone have any information on either of these horses. I would love some picks as this little guy is registered as a buckskin but looks appy and pinto mixed. I can tell this little guy was imprinted well. He loves to cuddle but has one bad habit... he like to put him mouth on you and gives a gentle bit. Not a good thing...Any information would be helpful. I am looking for a stud and want a really good one.

Stouts Silver Dream is registered as a gray appaloosa from a palomino and a red roan appaloosa.

Stouts Twister is registered as black appaloosa from a red roan appaloosa and a sorrel.

No pintos were mentioned. (not that that means much! LOL)

Welcome to the Forum, and hope you'll enjoy your new Miniature Horse ownership!

Here's hoping you can ask the sellers of your mini to provide photos of the parents of your new guy. Do they not have them? That's where I'd start and then find the registered owners and go from there.

Colors are so difficult to go from anything other than "in person" and photos because most of the time it's pretty hard to determine what a true color is even when parents colors are listed. These are often wrong and then you have a whole new problem to try and determine the true genetic color.

Look forward to pics!

and be sure and post pictures when you get your stud.

You have received good advice so far, I have nothing to add.
