It was 54 degrees here today and we are loving it! This is the third warm day this week.

However, this has created a mess in the paddocks. I decided to clean as much poo as I could before it froze solid to the ground again.

It was so gorgeous out there working....and I half expected to see buzzing flies. Fully expect a sun burn...

The wheel barrow was sooo heavy to push back through the mud that I had to call Sarah to help me! Between the heavy mud-covered poo in the wheel barrow and my boots getting sucked off my feet, I couldn't get it to budge!!! Once we got it moving, the wheel was slogging through the mud about 4 inches deep.

I turned around once I got out of the paddock and there was still a 3" deep gully where I'd just come-- and it was slowly filling with water!!

Hard to remember that it's February, not April.

We're getting heavy wind and rain tomorrow. Then a deep freeze. We've got to be careful about what we leave outside or it will be a solid block of ice.

This is the weirdest winter I can ever remember.

The horses are confused too-- they're shedding!

Maybe this weather means that we won't have bad mud this spring and that we won't have to clip the horses! :aktion033:

I have lived in America for 14 years and this is definately the weirdest winter yet!!!!!!!!!!

Weird and wonderful!!

Selfishly, I love it but think for some people who make their living based on winter sports etc it must be awful!!

My horses are shedding like it is late April and the birds are singing away!!

Ditto here in New Hampshire!!!! Mud, crap, ice, no snow, hair flying all around, driving thru 6 -8 inches of muddy road!!

Now for tomorrow high winds, snow, thunder,??????? NO POWER? Just count on it!

I love New England!

Bon

Sure wish we could get some of the weather causing your mud  We are SOOOOOOOOO dry here. No hope for rain, don't even think about snow! The wind has been blowing, gusting up to 40 mph. YUCK! Cleaning stalls is pretty easy......most of it is blown away.

It's been a crazy winter. The warm days are giving me spring fever way too early. Already want to go out and make the new stall doors and fence up some more area.

Oh well, maybe it will be a dry summer this year. Too much rain last year.

My horses and dog are shedding too.
