"Vets online say they have been notified by Durvet to keep an eye out for counterfeit ivermectin. We called Durvet directly this morning to ask about the situation and they confirmed there is counterfeit product being sold through third party resellers like Amazon and eBay. Although they said it is not, at this time, a widespread problem, this is a good reminder that pharmaceuticals are best purchased from known retailers (especially if the item is prescription, which ivermectin is not, but some dewormers, such as Heartguard for dogs is both prescription, and questionably obtainable on Amazon).
Durvet recommends you purchase your products from your known feed retailers such as your local feed store, larger chains such as Tractor Supply, or established online retailers like ValleyVet, not third party sites
Please, if you have encountered what you believe to be counterfeit ivermectin, call Durvet to report it, as they are trying to locate the source of the counterfeit products."
