That was excellent........ You could tell she was scared at first, but she sure came through!

Yeah. It must have been so hard. Her first performace since the murders of her family members...and in front of a gazillion people. Strong woman.

Oh she was AMAZING! She had such great presence and reminded me very much of "sober" Whitney Houston!!!!

She was very good...beautiful voice. I've always preferred the Star Spangled Banner in a man's voice though...don't know why but I always have.

I saw it, and although she has a gorgeous singing voice, I wasn't impressed, and in fact, commented to my husband how I thought she masacred it. SORRY, but you asked!!

I think the reason is that I always think that National Anthems should be sung in the original version. (like what we learn in school...I'm just old fashioned I guess!)

Usually when these people sing them, they alter them, singing in a different beat/tempo, dragging the words out etc. I just prefer the original. Just not long ago when the Eastern Championships of hockey were televised, I heard someone singing the same anthem, and I commented then to my hubby that THAT was THE BEST I have ever heard it sung ANYWHERE, and it was sung by a man. It was in my opinion, PERFECT!

I'm like Mona....I enjoy songs/anthems like that in their original version. I think she is such a brave gal to come out after all the horrific things done to her family. Very strong indeed.

That is exactly how I feel...I don't like when they flectuate with their voices...trying to make the song powerful with their voice...the song itself is already powerful, it doesn't need that and in my opinion takes away from the words and meaning of the song.

I also think she has a beautiful voice but the arrangement was horrible. It didnt even sound like our National Athem. I prefer it to be sung traditional. Sheila

I think it was a big disappointment to learn it was lip synched and not a live performance.
