There was a full page article in yesterday's paper about the Danish embassy in Damascus being burned and all the other things that are going on there. I won't comment any further than I already did the other day, but it just sickens me to see them burning the Danish and the German flags!

I don't read the paper nearly as often as I probably should, so perhaps this whole issue has been covered all along and I just didn't know about it.

still think they are nuts and they clearly prove that we are right when the "common" people think of them as terrorists and so on, one thing is to be peeved about a drawing, that you can do non-violent things about, what they do are purely violent and evil, hurting people that have never done anything bad to them but try to help.

This is just disgusting. Mobs burning flags, cars, buildings, chanting insults and killing people over a $%^&*cartoon is insane! Who cares!! What is wrong with these people?? Don't they have anything better to do with their lives?!

I can understand them being upset over the cartoons, I am sure there are lots of Christians who would be very insulted at cartoons of Jesus. Having said that, their violent acts in regard to this are absurd!! I wish the cartoons had never been published as I think the reaction was a predicatable one and this could have been avoided. This isn't going to go away now and it is truly frightening to think that they would maime and kill over a cartoon!! :new_shocked: Where is this going to end???

There have been many cartoon depictions of Jesus and even God. There have also been jokes made, skits done, songs song (ie. "Plastic Jesus") and movies produced about Jesus, God, Christianity, Catholicism, etc. The 1999 movie Dogma introduced us to "Buddy Christ" as a "happy alternative to the crucifiction." These people really need to get over it or learn to protest with some dignity...

I realize that Nikki :lol: , I guess I should have been more clear in saying that I meant that many Christians would be offended by Moslims making cartoon depictions of Jesus. And I agree with you wholeheartedly that protests should be made with dignity!!

Finally the US National TV news is reporting on what Jesper posted about. I don't think I'll get over the example of evil that is in this world -- all in the name of God and Religion.

And it is so unnecessary that a religion would inspire such violence.

I know of NO religion that asks of people to do what they do to proctect their religion, I even got a copy of their Quaran (equivilant of the bible) I see no place where they have to do what they do to protect Islam, I see no place where it says it is illegal to depict Muhammed.

and we all know that their press is far from free to write what they want and many of those countries are led by a dictatorship.

It isn't in the Koran to be violent against others. These are radical moslems, there are many moslems that are just like you and me. I know a moslem family, I went to school with their eldest daughter and they do not believe in the things that are happening in the name of their religion and have had death threats and a number of other undeserved things happen to them since 9/11. The radicals do not represent all moslems! As in every world religion there will be people who twist things to accomodate their own agenda, sadly we are seeing a lot of it right now with radical moslems.

Every religion and race has been poked fun at, at one time or another.

They are just looking for any excuse to further their so called "Holy War". If it was this that set them off they would of found something else.

Just hope it does not end up turning into a world war,, because it could get very ugly.

it is about time that WE the civilized people say STOP to all this and stop accepting all their BS and threats and terrorism and so on.

sadly they only understand one thing, and that is not the way I would like to go, but that is war, they don't understand speaking to eachother and agreeing on living in peace.

just look at how they treat eachother in Bethlehem all the time and Israel and so on.

I think the word THEY should be stricken from the english language! We "civilized" people are producing children that walk into schools with guns and shoot classmates and teachers, kill the neighbors horses because they are bored, and beat up strangers because of thier sexual orientation or religious beliefs. We have our own extremist here as well such as white supremisists and race gangs. What is going on is crazy to us but we need to take a good look at ourselves before we lay judgement on others, heck we have riots here because a football team wins or looses a game! And please do not lump all Muslims as the enemy, remember the KKK is supposedlya Christian organization!

WE stamped our feet and made them back down. I honestly did not think we still had it in us!!

Some b*gger thought it would be a fun thing to turn up at the demonstration wearing a suicide bomber outfit- he had to get up on National TV and apologise to all the families of the July outrage. Now the Government is saying we are being too soft on "them" (and we are, we have been terrified of saying anything for fear of upsetting the bl**dy Muslims.) And before you try to tell me it's not a Muslim thing try living with "them" all around you for a while. I'm not surprised they can keep the war in Iraq going the number of them there are over here, squashed in like sardines and living it up on the Social!! And of course sending money over to help fund the "war effort".

To h*ll with liberalism, I am sick to the back teeth with it. I do not want a Mosque in my back garden- I want my country back!!!!!
