Tonight I was looking at CL and there was a leaf blower for $10. Has anyone ever gotten a hose to fit and used it for a horse blower?

IMO it would be pretty unwieldy to use as a blower, and pretty loud also.

I've used my leaf blower on my horses.....and yes it was unwieldy and yes it was noisy; but it sure made the dirt fly.

What about a Horse vacum? Mine is K and it blows and sucks. We love it and it is quiet. Heck, for that matter a shop vac maybe better suited.

I used to use a leaf blower on my very first miniature horse. It worked great but it was noisy!

Air compressor. That's what I use. You have to be VERY careful not to hold it too close to their skin, which I don't. It's very powerful and does an amazing job. Both Willow and Bailey love having it done. The amount of dirt and dandruff stuff it blows out is remarkable! I swapped from using the vaccuum and now only use the air compressor.

We used a shop vac for years.

Then got a Double K vacuum.....heaven.

We usually blow rather than vac. We used it last friday when we had to get two horses ready for a Santa's Worksop and it had rained all night. Though the horses had a shelter they managed to get pretty wet.

Here is one after the blow drying, at the event! We did not want the little kids to have wet horses!

I've used my Shop Vac as a blower on my minis for years. I start slow, away from them, and then blow their shoulders from a distance. When they accept that I move to tummies and hips. Go slow around the feet until they're used to it and only do the heads from a distance. Even my spookiest guy learned to like it with patience and a couple treats. I find standing behind them blowing against the hair works the best and the fastest. My guys love it and will stand around waiting their turn especially when it's hot out. Much easier on me too.

I second the shop vac idea. In fact, got the idea from FunnyFarmNorth

If you get the bigger ones they are super powerful(much more so than the double K blowers, which are also 3 times the price). The only drawback is there is no heat mode like some "real" horse blowers have. I would think a leaf blower would be awkward to use. The shop vacs are big so dont travel easily, but are on wheels so very mobile around the horses, and you don't have to hold them or hang them like the double K blowers.

The motor and handle was only about 10" in diameter and the hard plastic hose came off. I was just wondering if there was any way to attach a soft hose to them. It was just the round motor.
