Our house kitty went missing yesterday afternoon. She gets to go outside daily, but comes in at night and is usually ready to come in when the dogs come in for the night. [We live very rural, nearest neighbor is a couple miles, second nearest neighbor is my in-laws and they are 3 miles.] Yesterday, I had an appointment with the equine dentist, she showed up about 3pm and my husband is certain he let Sami in at that time. I didn't see her at that time. The equine dentist had her well-behaved dog with her so we shut my husband's heeler in the house and that's where he stayed til she left. We have not seen Sami since 3pm or earlier yesterday. I suppose there is a chance that she hitched a ride off the ranch with the equine dentist in her pick-up (in the box, under the hood, etc). We searched all her usual hiding places with no luck. Checked all the outbuildings, shop, barn, feed shed, etc; no Sami. [sami is a spayed female.] There has been a stray tom running with the barn cats and my husband heard, but didn't see a few cat fights yesterday. I had to be gone today, but when I got home I took a drive in the direction the equine dentist headed, drove about 7 miles looking, stopped a few places and called for Sami (she does know her name). No kitty. So, since prayers have worked for others; please do your thing and think/pray good things, so our Sami can be found.

The longest she has ever gone missing before, was over night. I was up til after midnight, looking for her. Several trips around the yard with a flashlight, etc. Finally went to bed, but... She was in the house demanding her food at 5am, so she does have a good hiding spot in the house. But, this time its been over a day, which is just not like her. [i'm getting tired, so I'm rambling.] Just help us pray for Sami's safe return. [she was the runt of the litter a couple years ago, so we brought her in "temporarily" and two years later she is still in the house, and is very much a part of our household.]

: I am praying for a safe return of your beloved kitty. Maybe she is playing hide ad seek......here's hoping she will turn up in day or two, after a little jaunt through the neighborhood. I forgot, did you say if you called the dentist to see if he saw a cat matching yours at any of his stops? That might be an idea.....

Let us know if you find her,

Alicia

Sorry she is missing and I am hoping she turns up soon.

I would check cupboards and closets where she could have gotten and now can't get out. Also any boxes, trailers, garages, or sheds outside. Really walk inside these and listen for her. She could have knocked something over and be unable to get out. Cats are mysterious when they go missing and won't be found until they are ready to return. Keep looking. I would call the equine dentist and see if he saw her at all....might give you a small clue.

The only thing with the equine dentist is she isn't from the area; she travels for her work and was headed out of state when she left hear. But, I guess it wouldn't hurt to give her a call. Thanks for the good thoughts.

Just bumping it back up, so more can see it. She is still missing and we miss her. We've looked through every building on the place and no Sami.

HI Chanda, I know how you feel.

When our housecat got out, he too was scared by something and took off.

He got lost because being a housecat, he didn't know how to go any further than the back yard ,.

I think your cat got scared by the tom cat, ran off, and is now disoriented and just plain lost.

Keep searching your area and keep calling. Don't give up!

Thank you for all the good thoughts and prayers, hopefully they'll work and she'll come home. My hubby thinks something happened to her, but I'm not giving up yet. And, I have a couple neighbors keeping an eye out for her, so here's hoping she'll come home safely. She usually doesn't go further than the calving barn, but she did this time.

I'm so sorry about your missing kitty. We have a kitty too and I'm forever concerned about him. He refuses to be an inside kitty all the time and needs to go on adventures. One adventure had him locked in our neighbors barn. Another time he got locked in my husbands shop by accident. Check in places like this, like mentioned he may be stuck somewhere. Call the denist, he may have gone on a car ride. Don't give up hope until it's been awhile. Best wishes,

Chico

I tell you those kitties are tricky! My friend and I drove down to TX (from WI) earlier this year and while at a stop in TX the womans favorite female cat kept jumping into the back of my friends truck and was in and out of the trailer while it was open! We joked about making sure we check all places so she wasn't in there before we left. Well we almost left, twice, with the cat in the truck bed lol! Imagine if we got all the way home and then found her...!

My parents have a long haired, used to be house-cat, that loves being out in the barn with the rest of the kitties so there she stays! Well one day she just up and disappeared...for days...for weeks...for months. One of our regular barn kitties surprisingly gave birth to a long haired tabby just like our girl that ran away, except the kitten was male. We called him, her resurrection and we all agreed he really was her. It was too strange that he was and still is the only long haired cat ever born on the farm and to look just like her was a miracle! Well...3 months after her disappearance...she came back! We don't know where she went or why she was gone for so long. Strange thing...a couple months after she came back home, our little long haired male has gone missing....he still hasn't come back home.

I hope your Sami comes home safe and sound and soon!

Check in closets and cupboards -- and under things -- mine really can HIDE when they want to.

Hoping you find the kitty soon.

Oh I know how hearbroken you must be feeling.

Samie is such a pretty cat! Of course I will pray for her safe return and for her to come home quickly.

I have read before and seen some things on TV where a dog or cat have been miles and miles away from home and yet they make it back home again. I hope this is the case for your Sami.

Thank you. We think Sami is a pretty girl too. I've seen those stories too.

Still no Sami.

This evening, I spoke to a couple more neighbors. I called one of the local radio stations and put a lost cat ad on, they were so nice. Tomorrow, I'll call the other station when their free ad program is on. I'm still hoping she comes home safe and sound.
