I've been very anxciously awaiting the arrival of my Lignite EZ Entry Cart that I ordered in late August of 2006. I was told that it would be ready to ship for me to receive the end of October 2006, and I was thinking.........great..........still plenty of great driving time!

Well, I still don't have it yet, and I'm curious, for those of you that do have them, how long did it take you to get yours? Especially those of you who may have ordered in fall like I did. I understand if I had ordered in prime time driving season, it would have certainly been longer. But maybe if those who have ordered custom carts, can tell me how long it really takes, it might help me out.

Geri- I have a custom cart from Pam at a Silver Penney Farm. http://www.ccfdriving.atfreeweb.com/

I ordered on Dec. 23,2004 (oh my gosh, have I had this cart over 2 years already???) and it was shipped the week of Jan. 11,2005. It took only a few days from then to receive it. All told, less than one month from placing the order to the actual receipt. I LOVE this cart! I don't think she has anything comparable to the Lignite, but I would recommend her very highly!

I contacted them wanting to order one earlier in December. Told me the wait time would be March/April...I'm fine with that, but asked me to contact them after the first of the year as they were swamped with Christmas orders and things. I eagerly waited until after the first of January...tempted to even Email them THAT DAY. Didn't want to seem "tacky." Well, now it says on their website they are not accepting orders. I had Emailed them first, then went to see their website again and was devistated. I have not received an Email back...and imagine my excitement over the cart was too soon....ugh.

Anyway.....I wasn't in a hurry...I didn't want the cart until late spring.....but I don't know how long it will be that they don't accept new orders.

Hopefully you'll get your cart soon!

I, too have been waiting for my Lignite cart since middle of last year. I emailed about the cart and was also told that there was a backlog due to the holidays and that all the parts were there for my cart and that it would ship right after the holidays were over. So I emailed again today to see what is going on with my order.

Guess we are playing the same waiting game here. I don't usually post as I am a newer mini horse owner but I needed to post here to let ya know that you were not waiting alone.

I got my fingers crossed for the both of us that we get our carts soon. I happily was willing to wait on this cart as I have a smaller slight framed mini (29 inches) that is my driving horse and I needed the smaller VSE cart to ease his load as much as possible..but now I am getting antsy to get my hands on the cart and get it put together and use it...as I bet you are too.

I will post if I hear any more about my order ...

Hi Geri and Karen! :saludando:

Believe me, these carts are WELL worth the wait!!! We just Love ours, it is so finely crafted, and absolutely a dream to drive. I believe ours went over on time also, but when you are getting handmade quality, you generally do expect to wait a bit longer for it.

And Jim is about one of the most knowledgable, honest people you would ever want to meet, so hang in there, like I said, they are very much worth the wait!

:aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033: Thank you Nancy & Mike! Now I'm totally excited! Since our weather has turned cold, and we've just gotten more snow, I'm not really in a big hurry, just wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing the same thing. As they say, "good things come to those who wait!" Which, LOL  usually doesn't apply to me...........I'm not very patient as my hubby always tells me!

Nancy and Mike,

A bg thank you for telling me to just hang in there. This cart is a dream come true for me and my Tiny Tim and I just know it will end up being well worth the wait to get it. I was looking for a tiny cart and this one exactly fit what I envisioned. And the fact that Jim has worked on perfecting carts for minis for so long, well, that is why I didn't hesitate to order one of his carts. He has been a fabulous person to work with as far as figuring out what I needed in my cart.

Here in Arkansas, we have gotten rain, but the ground around my place is still mostly solid and I have big plans to go driving almost as soon as I get the cart.

I am so excited as this is my first driving mini horse and my first cart of any type. Again thanks for affirming my expectations about this very unique mini cart.

I just received my cart from Pam also and it only took a month. She was wonderful to work with and my cart is exactly like Peggy P's. It's fantastic!

I'm glad to know for future reference that you like your Silver Penney carts. I looked at them seriously before I made my decision (ordered a new Jerald, but if I decide to get an easy entry it will be the Silver Penney - beautiful carts)
