What's breaking my heart is that Liz's husband is out on his OWN boat and knows what's going on. He must be devastated....and can't be home with Liz so that they can support eachother over all this.

Sorry I missed this post right away.

Still no news, but I did turn off the phone so I could sleep earlier and missed one call. The Coast Guard is done w/search and rescue and working on recovery and investigation. The water was 47 degrees and survivability is good at 30 minutes or so, but very unlikely past a few hours and completely unlikely for sure 24 hours. They search beyond hope, but again can't continue forever, understandably, but I know how hard it is to let go of hope.

I just feel saddest for Jessica and Lake, losing someone that was part of their everday existence, and so close to them.

Martin seems to be doing ok, he is among his friends and the captain of his boat was quite close with Boots, (Craig) too, so they are having a remembrance time, talking about him and things he did or said, and sharing over the radio with those that are missing him. I think it's good for him, judging by our conversation last night, but I will be glad when he can come home, too.

Thank you for your thoughts and hopes, all.

Liz

You have my deepest sympathies in this terrible unknown sadness. I pray that if he is gone, he lives in God's arms safe and warm for always.

Just wandering if there was anymore news.....or if I missed something.

Hopefully Liz will update on here soon, but I have heard from her privately.

The search for Craig and his friend was called off and they are assumed drowned. Our local paper has been carrying the story as well.

Liz says that a memorial service for Craig is now being arranged, but I don't know any more than that.

I am praying that the whole family finds faith and strength through all this.

I'm so very sorry.....Such a hard time right now.....I can't imagine having a search called off for a loved one, that just tears your heart out.

My prayers are with you Liz and with the whole family.

A Memorial has been scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. Pacific Time.

Please light a candle or send up a prayer.

I'm sure Liz will be on here soon....

I totally emphathize since it's now just been a month since my Aunt died unexpectedly, it's just something people are never really ready for. Again, please know that I am sending you guys prayers and hoping that remembering all the good memories takes a little of the sting and hurt away.

Valerie

Thank you, everyone.

The search is basically over, but they are still trying to figure out what happened. Lots of speculation, but we may also never know.

The story in yesterday's paper had a couple pics of him and about the "last word" even though there's a few discrepancies even so.

I just wish he could watch his boy grow up and he might just show up at the door with a freshly caught salmon and wanting to have a barbecue.

He WAS pursuing his dream, though, and I guess if you're going to "go" why not be doing just that?

Prayers for your family Liz. He was too young to leave this world, but like you said he was living his dream and what a better way to go than to be doing what you love to do. I admire him for giving it his all.

Well, I did just hear that one body from the wreck washed ashore somewhere south of there near Cape Meares...I don't know if it was Craig or not, but there was a lot of rope and buoys and wood with it.

Whoo I guess there's not much denial left.

Our local bank, though, has set up a fund to help w/living expenses while Jessica gets back on her feet (she works at a local restaurant, but obviously, it is going to be harder w/out her boyfriend and Lake's father, to get by).

Not sure if I really want to know which it was, but I do.

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers, they are appreciated as it IS never easy to find some way to adjust now that life just stopped for someone you were close to, and you all have to go on w/out them.

Liz M.
