Ok, I got the neatest, kindest, most thoughtful gift yesterday from Kim (Crabby-Chicken on here).

Here is the photo it was taken from:

And here is the finished and framed painting:

Wow I am stunned, I don't know if I can ever say thank you enough. Isn't it beautiful?

What an amazing gift!!! :aktion033:

Kim has absolutely captured Gramma Pony's spirit, that sparkle in her eye, her sense of pride and her inner peace. Just incredible...

Yes, the painting has a soft and glowing quality it's so sweet just like GP and I think the best part is I know it was not easy to execute (look at her pose!)! The picture was taken on Mother's Day of 2003 just after we'd had her teeth done (hence the shaved neck) and she had not yet shed for the year but quickly began to. She was having a nap and just getting up when I took the pic.

Kim is very talented and she downplays it, but there is really something to being able to capture a feeling/spirit from an animal and she can do that....

You think of me when ever you're about to be naughty? I love it!

Might sound stupid but I got tears in my eyes when I saw the painting. It's too special for words! The artist, the friend she is, the pose and Gramma Pony!

*GREAT BIG HAPPY SIGH*

--yeah, I have done the same thing, but luckily I waited til I got home to look at it and think about it.

Kim rules. And to think...I met her "here". Her whole family is great. Back when she was t90kim in '97!

(You need to come out here and meet everyone someday and eat some seafood and visit w/Mouse and Gramma....and...well, I'm TRYING to tempt you. We'd even pick you up from the Airport and you could stay here w/us! *LOL* Too bad we're not near Nationals or anything uber cool Miniature Horse wise.)

Some awesome peeps here on this board.

What an incredibly thoughtful gift, Gramma is getting up there in years and we all love her so very much, what a wonderful memorial this will be to the "queen" of the LB forum.
