I'm planning a trip from Ontario through NY state, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine to New Brunswick. If anyone lives in any of those places or knows of any horsey things that I should go see or do please post! My hubby and I are just getting away for a little while and we have no plans other than the basics of where we are going. In NY we will be going from Syracuse-Schenectady to Vermont. I know there is lots more there and If thee is something that we "must see" then we will drop farther down into NY. I'd even be looking at great places to buy mini sized tack.

I live in Vermont and depends on the time of year you are traveling but soon all the county fairs will be in full swing and there are lots of horse events (including minis) at the fairs and lots of great vendors. So much to see in Vermont. No matter where you go, it's beautiful. Happy travels.

We are leaving on july 25 and our first stop is just outside of Montreal for a snow machine thing for hubby. Then heading down into NY state and across from there.

You'll be a little early for the fairs but there's so much to do in Vermont from tourist things like Ben & Jerry's (lots of fun) to Dog Mountain which is an awesome place if you love dogs and Jay Peak for indoor water parks, Burke for biking trails and the list goes on and on. Many places to do horse activities such as trail rides. Vermont is wonderful and a great place to vacation. There's guided ATV tours too if your husband enjoys those. And hopefully it will cool off and stop raining for a few days.

I'm in New Brunswick about 1/2 an hour from Sussex and the PLP show area. I am located in Norton. It usually always has some horse shows going on especially on the weekends. http://www.plpshowcentre.com/

We also have a few covered bridges around the area.

The Bay of Fundy is about an hour away, where there are caves from the tides. That is in St.Martins.

My cousin was just in Sussex on the weekend. There was a show and her mini group competed. We are meeting in Shediac for a couple days and then attending a family reunion on the 3rd of Aug.

Yeah I went and watched the drill team competitions. The minis were awesome!! I have a video clip of them, I will post it later in the photo forum.

They were the group with red shirts and white cowboy hats on. Everyone had an EE cart too. There were 10 drivers too. My cousin had the long blond hair.

When I'm doing I'm heading to the farm where the minis are. I can't wait, I might even get to practice with them.

That would be so cool. They really do a great job with them. They have some pretty nice minis too, The one Kurt Bird drives, I think his name is Smokey. He can get him to do just about anything.

I hope they are still doing it in 5 years. I will be moving down there when the last one is done school.

I am sure they will be at the rate they are going. There are more and more every year.
