I didn't like everything about the finale, but I think it is *possible* that both Ji Yeon and Aaron DID get to be raised by their parents; there is a strong suggestion that the final 'get-together' of the kindred spirits of the Island occurred after ALL of them had eventually died...notice that Jack's father tells Jack that some of them died before Jack, and some of them long after? And, that Hurley, when he comes out of the church to ask Ben to come in, tells Ben that he was a 'good # 2', and Ben responds that Hurley was a 'good # 1', or words to that effect? That implies a passage of time--who knows HOW long--that they were the Island's guardians, after Jack 'annointed' Hurley as the guardian? Just because we didn't see something saying'''"XXX years later..." on screen, doesn't mean that time--maybe many years???--hadn't passed! We're just not used to presuming such things w/o being TOLD it has happened...
All in all, I was 'satisfied' by the finale.I think it was as close to a 'happy ending' that a show like LOST could get, given how it was conceived and written, IMO.I cried through pretty much the final 10-15 minutes; it was VERY moving...
I surely know I will MISS looking forward to it, and that it should go down in the history of TV(and I can say, I've 'been around' for ALL of that history, so far!) as a ground-breaking concept and show!I read on the EW webpage(where I've recently been reading Jeff(Doc)Jensen's columns on LOST), that the finale of LOST would be eligible for an Emmy nomination(seems anything OVER two hours usually isn't, but special dispensation has been voted in)--so maybe there will be some industry honors in the offing for the show, also!
Margo(who, BEFORE TV arrived for the general public) remembers spending Sat. mornings listening to special children's shows on the RADIO! I recall a little ad jingle being sung about Cream of Wheat.."Cream of Wheat is so good to eat--we have it every day....", etc....anyone else here remember it???)
