We added on to our mini barn and just finished the outside. I bought some 7/16 osb to line the inside of my stalls and the price last year was $5.96 now it's $13.97! They said it was because of hurricane season. Can someone enlighten me on this. How long does it last and am I crazy to think this is a Huge jump? I admit I really don't watch the news, does this happen every year? Maybe I spend to much time in the barn.

I don't live in a Hurricane area, so I don't know if that's a yearly price change, but yes, that is quite a jump. [We have several small buildings on the place, my mini barn is one, and they are mostly made of recycled materials (we've torn down old building and reused the materials to make "new").]

I do the same thing

. The steel for both my barns are 2nd hand, saved me a ton!Windows and doors are also used, cabinet, lag bolts, etc. The guy I buy from tears down buildings and stuff but his osb is in real rough shape.I had a gift card for the lumber company so that helped with the cost. I will definately be looking around if I need some more.

I bought my sheeting last fall. It had been around $13-$15 a sheet. I went in to get it and it had dropped to around $8 a sheet. Lucky me! I was planning $15 a sheet when I went in to get it. I use it for inside and out side walls and the roof. Durring the winter I cover the roof with plastic because the roofing stuff just costs too much. I may get some snow coat for moblie home roof that paints on for next winter.
