what was your last remembered maiden mares foaling date in days? I know all are different, but.... I have MN testing strips and the pool strips, but have no milk yet, so can't test. Anyone know of any other way to test?

Thanks Ruth

I am with you Ruth... my maiden is at 330 today, just swelling in the bag no milk yet. One softer poop that is all so far. My other maiden that my daughter foaled out was at day 353. So we may have a wait! Sorry.

I'm so with you to. I have a mare at 332 days. She has a full bag but not milk for me to test yet either. She seems ready to go any time but not showing the typical signs.. I sure hope I dont have to wait much longer... This is my first maiden and its nerve racking.

I thought minis didn't go as long as the big horses at 340 days???? But I'm like you, my mare has full bag-no milk, belly has "dropped", irritable etc. We did not have the foresight to buy a barn cam in advance, so won't have it til Tues. Getting up all night is rough...

But I can't wait, it's my first mini to foal. I love all the pictures of the foals born this year. They are so adorable.

I got a drop of milk to test out of mine today... right in the middle. Maybe next weekend!

I think that minis make their own rules, lol! I've had them foal anywhere from 291 days, to 360, and everywhere in between!

I'm waiting on two maiden mares right now, no milk yet, very little bags. One is at 298 days, the other at 342 days, and I couldn't tell you which will foal first, they seem to be about the same. Just watching, watching, watching!
