Market this year has been good to us!

Oh so worried about the economy this year.

This is our hobby and we love it.

I believe we did not too bad

Sold our Colt at a month old & our 2 fillies today at 3 months.

Got what we where asking.

Sorry guys I was just thrilled, so wanted to share.

How has this year's market been for you?

We had a rough foaling year, ending up with 1 colt when 6 were expected! However, what a colt! At two months, we were able to arrange a trade for him, that I believe is very favorable to both parties. We received a darling, buckskin pinto yearling filly, and he is going to a farm that shows and wins alot (Toad Hill Miniatures) to be bred to number of homozygous National Champion mares! We feel very fortunate, because I have heard horses, especially babies, are not selling!

I always worry about the market... some years you breed all of them and only 1 foals. Last year I bred 6 and 5 foaled! No luck yet.

I had 4 mini foals this year, 2 we are keeping(both fillies), the other 2 are colts, one was sold at about a month old(appy colt) and the other we still have(buckskin colt) and he is about a month old now.

bred 3 mares in 2009; zero foals in 2010. Mare bred to fertile stallion was sick during pregnancy, so must of slipped her foal somewhere along the line. Other mares were bred to stallion with questionable fertility, trying one more season, then will probably geld him, depending on the outcome.

We bred 6 mares...lost one foal....we are keeping one appaloosa filly and have sold the other 4 babies...plus a stallion...I feel very Blessed especially now days when money is so tight...but it seems like the 'right' people always show up and are perfect matches with the ones they buy....we are pretty excited with one filly as they are planning on showing her! Will be our first homebred in the show ring...I don't know who is more excited..them or us!
