It is a continuous battle around here to get weight on my dog, Dakota. She is a purebred, registered german shepherd. She is a 58lb female. The vet said she should be at 67 lbs to be at a good weight.

My vet recommended Purina Pro Plan, so I am currently in the middle of introducing it to her, with mixing it in with her previous kibble. She suggested the pro plan because it is high energy, so eat less for more...and thats what Dakota needs because she hardly eats at all, definately not a good eater (picky).

I was talking to a friend of mine who races sled dogs, and she sells this high energy dog food called Momentum. Its made by a vet in the states, and apparently its better then the pro plan, so I ordered a few bags of it (had to order it through her from the states). I was wondering if anyone has used it, and what your comments are on it. I don't assume many people have heard of it, as its a smaller brand.

Heres the site if anyone is interested.

Thanks.

Kristin.

I think if you go to this site you will find some excellent foods for you dog.

http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/

They do reviews of different brands and either recommend them or do not.

When you read their reviews you'll see why some are not recommended.

It's darn scary what they put in dog foods.

The brand you mentioned has some good things going for it....only a couple that

put red flags up to me.

How old is your girl?

We have, a now, 18 month German Shepherd male, that is not a good eater and is very active.

Late last August he only weighed 71 pounds, which the vets were not concerned about,

as they like GSD's lighter in weight in their early years.

He has, however, since August finally put on some weight and is now at 89#....

Hope that site helps you....
