There's an article in today's issue of the Toronto Star ( www.thestar.com ) that says Brigadier will have a hero's sendoff. A local funeral home near the site of the tragedy has offered the use of their place for the memorial service. They're not sure whether they'll be able to accommodate the huge crowds they're expecting!

In each day's issue of the paper, it seems like the accused's charges are slightly different and slightly more serious sounding. I wish they would throw the book at him..... literally. A REALLY big book.......

I encourage all of you to read the articles in The Star.

I am really glad that they are doing a Hero's send off!!! He trulys deserves one.

I too hope the creep gets exactly what he deserves and MORE!!!!!!!!! :deadhorse2:

Well, he deserves it for completing his job and giving his life in the line of duty.

I do think that person who hit him and his rider deserves more serious charges. Not to diminish the life of the horse, but they could be burying a police officer at the same time.

This subject is sort of dear to me, so I hope they give him a sentence that will drive home the seriousness of the crime.

Sunny, Thanks for the update. It sounds like people are pulling together to honor a wonderful animal. It also sounds like the driver may get a harder time of it as the public becomes aware of it. :aktion033:
