Im super enthusisatic about driving with my new guy Edison, however, the harness from my 32" mini wont fit my 48" pony, so I will be needing to buy a new one. I am looking for a low in price, sturdy harness that he could be broke to drive in, and could be used for day to day work later on (pulling a small cart, maybe a little logging/farm work too). I am very new to driving but not to horses. If harness fit is as important to saddle fit, I know as a newbie I shouldn't do this without advice!
What features should I look for? Could anyone post a link or list specific ones they recommend? Im okay with Nylon (my trainer has a few higher end nylon ones that are great and easy to repair and wash if need be) but would prefer a low in price leather one if it can be found. Im not looking to spend much over $200. I want to save money on his day to day harness to get him a nice one for shows. What are some big no-nos in a harness?
