Just before her arrival at our farm....

000_4913.jpg

And after in a very temporary stall on her first night home.

Her registered name is UT Silversong Enterprise but I am having some trouble pulling a barn name out of that...she may be a Tera or Tara... still working on it as Reprise is too hard for me to squeak out with no voice (been that way for a week now).

She and Neffie share the same birthday and it is funny as they are often together, sharing hay and space. Indy also hangs with them.

Mercy and Freedom usually are far away from the "baby" group - Neffie and Morgan foal by age, Indy by size, and Finnie floats between the two groups.

Will post more this AM when they are outside - just haven't had the energy to take photos!

Ohhhh I love her! Congrats!

How about "Song" or "Prize" or "Prissy"... that's about all I can come up with out of the name.

I'm not always one for naming a horse directly from their registered name, so go with what you like.

Have fun with her!

Andrea

Thanks for the suggestions... we are still batting names around.

She is getting better about having her feet handled - can lift and hold front feet with her staying balanced and are working on hind feet.

I can scratch her and get her to groom back with her lips and not her teeth...that is an important part of my bonding process with all the girls.

Son Andy took my camera to the ski hill - had hubby outside and was going to have some pics taken but have to wait until tomorrow - President's Day in the U.S. and a day off for me from school so I should have an opportunity. :cheeky-smiley-006:

Had someone come and look at my large pony today - a tough decision to move her on to a new home but she did not mature tall enough for me or my sons and in order to bring home Morgan #2 (who I have a deposit on), it is something that has to happen.

The group that came to look at her today rode her in windy conditions with deer and snowmobiles running in the neighbors' yards and she was doing her best to move forward, bend, get on the bit with the footing and strange rider and she was so good for not having been ridden in a few weeks (I personally would have been bucking and being naughty if I were a horse - she did none of that). Whether the sale goes through or not, it doesn't matter - I saw the time and training I put into her (she was an unbroken yearling when I adopted her) come to fruition and I hope she can achieve great things with a junior rider in the eventing world. The group commented on her "heart"...and I was amazed to see it all.

P.S. Disneyhorse - I like Prissy but still weighing the options!

: We used to breed Morgans. Still have one mare.

Enjoy!!

what a precious face! can't wait to see the rest of her! we don't have any real live Morgans but my mom bought me a Breyer one, Morgan Mare, look below and can you guess why :bgrin

She is cute!!! What are her bloodlines? I used to show Morgans and did my apprenticeship at the UVM farm I love the breeds character and willingness with a bit of that spitfire personality to boot. Ok time to go write a thousand times "I do not need another horse. I do not need another horse!!!" But darn it I'd love to have another Morgan. Holding out for the perfect UVM Lash baby. He is my baby I go to visit him a few times a year still. When I lived in VT I used to bring him treats every weekend. He's the smallest stud there but has the biggest attitude and most interesting personality he either likes you or wants to eat you just like his daddy UVM Flash luckily after walking into his stall on my first day and almost having one of my womanly parts removed by him we worked out our differences and became great friends. When I go to visit him the minute he hears my voice he still starts nickering and whinnying to me before he can even see me. Sorry I got way off topic here.........You're filly is very cute.....

Let me see if I remember right... sire is from old government lines and I think he is an Applevale Boy King grandson on his dam's side, (AB King's sire was Kingston)... the dam is a Waseeka's In Command granddaughter - a red sabino who was very cute, too. I am waiting on the papers to see who else in is there.

My other filly is a Courage of Equinox granddaughter...I have her parents' papers upstairs so I can post on that later. My 1/2 Morgan colt (who would be 21 if he is still alive) is/was a Courage of Equinox grandson.

I think we are going with Teri as a barn name - my son hates it but it seems to fit her.

Thanks,

Denise

:aktion033: :aktion033: Glad I could help with naming your girl. :bgrin

Thanks, Morgan #2 can now come home since I sold my large pony today

: but :cheeky-smiley-006: at the same time... registered name pending is GVM Weatherly, aka Thea. She was easy to name - her dad's name is Thunder!

Thea is a month older than Teri.

Just have to finalize shipping, etc... very excited but have to go do my nightly work with Teri and Neffie - they share the same birthday and it is funny how much further I have Neffie as far as handling. Teri is smart - and seems to be picking up stuff quickly.

Glad to hear you are getting morgan #2 and Thea is a pretty name. So you'll have Teri and Thea. LOL

I thought she might be from the old government lines. I knew Courage well used to visit East of Eqiunox Farm in Manchester, VT at least a couple times every year. Ivan Beattie is a wonderful person and loves to talk horse for hours. I also love the In Command lines. She has a lot of good blood in her. I'm kind of a history buff when it comes to the Morgans. I love to study the different bloodlines.

Was slow at work and researched both fillies back to Justin Morgan and back further to the Godolphin Arabian...black filly has a lot of Lippitt blood on the mare's side....very cool to find these pedigrees and to see what blood went into creating the Morgan breed!
