My first open show!

Well, we had a blast and did pretty descent. I loved meeting everyone and it was great for the horses too.LoL

Well we will start with little mr piglet, i think he did well considering he is going through his gawky growth spurt and hopefully will fill out soon, he placed 3rd out of either four or five horses in yearling halter. He is my 4-H gelding but my step sister showed him today.

Second, is Eore. Eore is my sister's 4-H gelding, he dida great job, considering his bad hair do...he had a bit of a mohawk problem, because his main is growing out and was straight in the air until yesterday. :bgrin

He placed second in two year old halter stallions/geldings...i think he had five in his class...i could be wrong.

Then there was Stormy, he is my stallion, and my love

: . I think he did very well considering he has never shown before. He placed 3rd in two year old stallions/geldings and he placed 6th out of 13 or 14 in the multi color class...so i was pleased.

I saved the best for last

: Here is Melody, she is my two year old mare that has never even seen an arena. She placed first out of two year old mares...im not sure how many horses were in that class. Then she moved on and got RESERVE GRAND CHAPION! i was SOO proud of her, she has never shown and did soooo well. Finally she moved on to the solid color class with had mares, stallions, and geldings...and she got 1ST! haha so, needless to say she had a great day, and made me sooo proud. :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin

So, we had a great time, even though it was extremely hot. We have only ever shown in a couple 4-h horse shows and this open show was great, we met a lot of people, saw some beautiful horses, and got to have fun with our own horses...We are planning on trying to show more often now that we have found out how much fun it can be.

Well congratulations!!!!! I wish i could go out with a first time horse and do that. Mine always seem to flip in the ring or do some crazy stuff to me. haha oh well, but good job and you have lovely horses!

thanks everyone, im so please it went this good...now i just have to find some more shows that are within driving distance before i start on the big shows. hehe... Stormy is my love and he did an awsome job, i think i could have shown him better, and done better on my part but i couldnt have asked him to do much better....i was also soooo proud of him for not acting up at the show. Believe me, he KNOWS he is a man, but at the show...i couldnt have asked him to behave better.

Melody is my baby, boss, and protector.....she thinks she has to keep all the other horses away from me at home. She is an awsome mare, and i took her mainly just to let her have her chance in the show ring before we have her at home for being a mom...but doing as well as she did...she might have to wait on the whole mom thing, so that we can keep her weight down and continue showing.... i would like to point out she IS pregnant at the moment, but not due until march of '07. I think she is at a descent weight, since she does have a baby in there.

Either way, thanks for all the compliments, and i think this was a eye opener...we will definately cotinue showing
