my fist foal ever

I'm So happy to be writing this. I have been watching everyone else post of their new ones being born and now I can add to it. She was Due April 15th but foaled ealy this morning at 1:20a.m. I missed the whole thing but did have her on camera and taping it so I did get to see it. Text book delivery.

So here she is.....

PS. she does have a t-shirt on in the one pic. Was not expecting here this soon so I didnt get a blanket for her so this morning we put this on her since it was so cold. Oh what color does she look like her mom is a red roan and has passed the roan on to all her other foals and her dad is a silver dapple. I was either thinking blue roan or silver dapple like her daddy.

I have two girls due April 11th...one looks like she could go any minute, the other looks like she's faking it and just trying to take advantage of the cushy stall to sleep in (actually she does have a small bag starting so I know she's bred, but she's not huge like the other mare).

Hello, first congratulations on the new baby. How exciting. I know the feeling.

Glad all went well for both Mom and baby.

I just wanted to let you know on those cold nights or days, you can buy

a small toddler size sweat shirt and put on the foal. You put the front legs

in the arms. and if they are to long just cut the arms off of the sweat shirt.

Works super. I have even used them on the foals under blankets.

I have even used them on the show horses at shows under blankets

when it was really cold. Hey at least they are standing and freezing. May

look funny, but what's more important. I keep sweat shirts in my foaling

kit.
