Need Some good thoughts for tomorrow.

Need some good strong thoughts for my stallion "Nite Ryder" for tomorrow. Going to

the vets early am and hoping he finds both "boy's" have dropped. He will be put under

and rolled on his back in hopes he can get the other to drop if it already hasn't. If it has

he will be gelded right then. If not I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Cryptorchids should

not be bred and he is really getting stud like now

I will be picking him up later as they had to pack him with gauze until

tomorrow. He wanted to watch for excessive bleeding until this afternoon.

These guys can sure worry you!!

Absolutely, he was going to be gelded.

I was going to have to take him to a vet hospital Phoenix. They were going to keep

him for a total of 4 days and do a laproscopic on him. The cost was really prohibitive

but would have figured a way. They quoted me a cost of around $2500.00. My vet here

in Tucson decided to put him under and see if he could find it. He found the little "boy"

by palpatating and did the surgery..... :aktion033: :aktion033:

Would love for you to visit when you are in town. We are on the backside of the Catalina mountains. From your Grandmother's you would come west on Skyline/ Ina and go north on Oracle Rd for approx 14 miles.

Oh Gini, I am so happy for you!!! I had to geld Danny last fall, he was a cryptorchid, and I got out of the clinic at $1900. Makes him a pretty valuable and expensive little gelding!!! :new_shocked:

Amy, I haven't gotten the bill from my vet yet but I'm sure it's not going to be as bad as if I

had to take him out of town. He gave me an estimate of around $300.00 plus all the

drugs it took to get him flat out. My husband was in arrest over the estimate from Glendale!!!

I'm so glad it's done now!!!! I sure wasn't going to sell him if he was cryptorchid as I could

never be sure he wasn't going to be bred. I was just going to have to keep him penned off

from the rest of the herd. He would have been a very unhappy boy. I could not believe the difference in size of the testicles. Still not too sure why they become crypt. but I do know it's inherited and I

would never breed one.
