OK,, all you good folks in NW Oregon.

What are the names of the Farriers you use?

What do you like about them?

The one I have now,, I have been working with. But been having problems the last few times.

He is making everyones hooves off. My Fjord mare has the most straight legs I have ever seen on a horse,, and he is making her pigeon toed! :new_shocked:

Same thing he did with my Icey mare.

errrr.......

Hate looking for a new Farrier.

In addition to responses you receive here, you may also want to try one of my favorite farrier websites:

Horseshoes.com

They have a "farrier finder" section on the website. Great people - have always been very helpful when I've had questions.

Not sure who you've been using, but I use Robert Larson out of Tillamook.

I dunno if he gets in that way, but you could try calling him,

503-842-7184 and if not get him out, get a recommendation, possibly, for someone in your area.

We've been "together" (*LOL* it's like a marriage to me, a good farrier) since 1998, and my vet recommends him.

Hi, Shari...

We use Billy Fisher...great guy, no attitude, fairly on time (as much as farriers can possibly be...)

and I like how he trims our guys (he does Daryl's horses, too). I don't know if there are any different approaches to trimming Icelandics or Fjords, but he'd be upfront with you whatever the case may be.

He's a real character, very fun to talk with, and the horses love him.

He's located in Scappoose, so I'm sure Rainier wouldn't be a problem.

Thank you Both!!

Will give them a call and see who is taking new folks.

Both the Fjord and Icey, just need normal balanced trims. Some thing the current farrier seems to be having a hard time doing. Sigh ~~
