Hi all,

I have a show next Saturday in Zurich, I am going to this show to help a friend out. This show is with her riding club , and they are opening a class for "small equines" meaning shetlands will be there too, sort of a mixed small breed show. The class will be in halter obsticle, walking over tarps, bridge , sidepasses etc.

For this show I will wear nice slacks (black) and I am thinking ...hoping .. I can get away with wearing a nice black and white fitted blouse , Its from Talbots , and has dragonflies on it , not solid , just a light outline of dragonflies... maybe I will add a splash of color in a small understated scarf. Do you think I can get away with this? I have very nice suits , and really dont want to get them "horsey" they are my work suits. My slacks are machine washable. Can I just take a suit jacket with me in case I need one ? I know a few of the other people there will NOT bewearing suits , just jeans. Actually I would be suprized if anyone wears a suit there. So I know i will look clean and fresh. Most of the people there wont even have show halters. I plan to treat it like an AMHA rated show , but hope I can get away with NOT wearing a 300 dollar suit. what do you think? one horse is black with a white star, the other is a chestnut paint.

thanks for your advice.

I think you should be dressed just right...a nice tidy long-sleeved lbouse always looks nice and crisp. You could wear a fitted vest and maybe a hat to finish off the look, but it isn't necessary. Then again, I don't know what is expected at a show in Europe other than what I have seen in a few pictures.

Your outfit sounds very nice.I would suggest wearing black short gloves and maybe adding a small brimmed black hat just in case. You won't be over dressed, just classic horse show looking. Many shows here in the states are not A or R rated, but appropriate horse show attire is suggested.Definitely no sneakers-just some kind of black boot or simple black flat loafer or oxford shoe.something that won't be obvious to the judge.good luck-sounds like fun.Let us know how things go-I'm sure people will be awed by the Minis and Shetlands
