Hello I am back with more pregnancy posts! Please read.
I do not remember if I've posted about our other mare Tilly being bred last year. She went out to have a rebreeding after missing the previous year. She was gone during the time Pearl had her colt Val.
Anyways! This mare has been keeping everyone on their toes! She's been driving us nuts.
Tilly is due to have a early April foal. This is not the first time she's had a foal as well. We have been told she can be a funky one when bred too. As in showing she's pregnant but not or showing she's not pregnant and then popping a foal out.
This time though we've ultrasound her 3 times last year to make sure lol
The vet did mention that the baby seems to be very far in and hidden which is already concerning.
Now coming to today. We'll this past week she's been looking and acting like she getting ready to pop that baby out! She has 2 and a half months to go! At earliest the last week of March.
What is also concerning is we've seen hardly any foal movement at all. We often question if the foal is rolling or if it's her breathing.
We do have a vet appointment scheduled for her next week but she's scaring me lol.
What do you guys think?
The photos didn't want to load into the post so they are linked below.
She's dropped down in the belly quite a bit and her udders are not developed but there is a lot of development in front of them and also what looks like she's waxing????

Just looks like crusties on the udders, I don't see anything that makes me think she is likely to pop one out today. Not that they can't trick you if they feel like it. She is bigger than either of my girls, but I'm expecting june and july foals.
You should be seeing foal movement at this point though. Get yourself a chair, and sit outside with her while she eats. If she starts to act irritated, that's probably foal movement. Hopefully you can see it, but if not you can feel for a while.
Why did the vet think the baby being hidden was concerning? I was late ultrasounding one of my girls this year and the vet told me that at some point the baby moves down too far and she can't see it anymore, but she could still see the placenta. I thought that was normal after a certain time.

Oh Oh! I meant that I thought the baby being super far and hidden was concerning lol
I am hoping everything is all good. She is very very irritated. She does not want to be touched anywhere on her body as if she's very very sore.
This is her first baby with us and have been told with her other pregnancies and or trying to get pregnant she is a funk. Always doing something different lol
