I have seen some of those before. It seems like a ton of work. Besides, in some states you do that and some yoyo is gonna charge you with animal cruelty. They air spray that stuff on. They don't seem to mind the junk they put on a Persian cats fur to keep them from licking themselves. It took my Persian 9 years to learn to take care of herself. She couldn't even cover her own potty. And people say dying a dog is cruel?
I am a professional dog groomer.. it takes a lot of talent! I personally don't do clips to this extreme, but do my share of creative and custom clips. I do have friends in the industy that compete however.
I hope they go thru with a show on this stuff. I really can only imagine the work that goes into it. I used to work for a groomer but only did bathing and brush outs. Heck it can take me 20 minutes just to clip my dogs nails let alone do something like that:BigGrin
I also groom dogs, besides owing 3 standard poodles. I do get the magazine Groomer to Groomer and the last issue had some of these pictures in it. I dont see anything wrong with coloring or clipping a dog for creative grooming, it takes hours to just do a simple creative clip. They are professionals. I dont clip any of our dogs to this extreme, but I do have a friend who is also a groomer and does creative grooming for shows and demo's..in fact she has asked to use our dogs, I said NOOOOOOOooo, my dogs need to look like a normal groomed poodle and that is it. The most I have ever done is clipped a shamrock into there hip area, for a St. Pattys Day parade, and have used sidewalk chalk for the coloring. Very simple but cute. I do like to play with the clippers
when I am doing there spring clips..since I do let ours cord over winter, and they have nice fluffy long hair, but it only last until my hubby walks in the room.
.. he grooms also, and dont go for any of the creative stuff.
They also do creative cat grooming/dye. I love to watch a good creative groomer at work. Its exactly that..CREATIVE grooming.. They are very talented.
