The Oklahoma Miniature Horse Club is offering its annual clinic at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Guthrie from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009.
The event, including lunch, is free and open to the public.
There will be a variety of presentations and demonstrations, including information for first-time owners on care and handling, nutrition and feeding, vaccinations, and hoof care. Miniature horse reproduction and dental care will be presented by OSU veterinarians, Drs. Lyndi Gilliam and Chelsea Makloski. Other topics on the clinic schedule are horse therapy, fitting and conditioning of performance horses, driving, and showmanship, as well as halter breaking foals and other practical topics. Special activities will be provided for youth who attend the clinic. We welcome individuals and groups at this event, which provides an opportunity to explore interests and learn from professionals and owners of miniature horses.
