I've got 2 jobs, plus my son is having problems. I haven't gotten Smarty trained for driving like I had wanted to and I wanted to get Bell certified for nursing homes as she has no problems with anything new. I'm keeping Honey(Trisket) as I don't want her to go through any more and we are keeping Drew our riding horse. I work at the barn he is at for the winter and take care of my parents. I'm spreading myself too thin lately and they are suffering. Don't get me wrong I clean, feed and groom them still, but I Get up at 6:30am and don't stop until 9/10 pm. I ahve some leads on people close to me so we'll be able to see them still and keep an eye on them. I bought them when they were 3weeks old and we visited them every weekend until they came here at 5 months old. They were Cassidy and Noah's birthday presents, but they don't help as much as I would like them too. THat's why this is so hard for me.

Tough tough decision, I know.

But you are wise to know that you've spread yourself to thin.

You're doing yourself a good turn and they will do well, loved

by someone of your choice.

That's such a difficult decision to make, but it is a wise person who knows when they need to cut back on their responsibilities. Wishing you good luck and less stress!

Christy

You will find the perfect home for them. Good thoughts coming your way. I really respect you for making this very hard decision and please know we are here for you.

Thanks Gini. I'm glad to know that. I want you to know also that Honey(Trisket) will never leave here or our family until she's ready to cross that rainbow bridge. She's come a long way and I don't want her to go through anything bad ever again.

Have you had any luck in finding Smarty and Bell a new home yet? I'm just curious because I own Bell's sire, Richie. I bought him in June and he is the sweetest little guy.

Take care,

Jennifer

Christy I can sooo relate to what you're going through. I've been telling myself for over a year now that I need to find a new home for my riding horse. He wasn't ridden at all last year (and only about 3 times the year before that) and he's just too good a horse to be a pasture ornament. He definitely misses the attention got when we were showing. At 65 I've got to face the fact that my riding days are probably all but over and he has a lot more good years left than I do. It's really a difficult decision to make and I'm afraid finding the right home for him will be even worse. I sincerely wish you good luck with your search for a new family for Smarty and Bell.

What a HARD decision for you to make.

I am sorry it has come to this, but if you take the strain off now it could really help in the overall picture of your life..

(((HUGS))) to you...

You are making the right decision. I remember selling my riding horses as circumstances in my life changed and they were not getting the attention they deserved. It's hard, but for the best.

I think you are smart to lighten your load.

It's going to help.

Good luck as always (((( ))))
