What are you breeding for? The type of stallion you have should reflect what you want to market your babies as.
If you want to breed Nationally competitive halter horses, the stallion should have that ability or quality.
If you want to breed competitive driving horses, the conformation would show that ability and talent in the horses you breed, etc.
I don't know how thorough a critique you would like, but he has a very heavy neck and very thick throatlatch, which may make him difficult to set his head as a driving horse and is not generally desired in the halter ring.
He has a very short back and a low tail set, seems very heavy on the forehand.
He looks to be correct in the legs and has a pretty face, and of course is very colorful! He looks well cared for.
Congratulations! It's always exciting to get a new horse.

Thanks! I'm new to minis so have got lots to learn! we got him in a package deal, we weren't sure if we wanted to keep him or not. We are leaning towards driving horses but haven't ruled out halter.

Welcome to the world of minis! You will have lots of fun with them
I suggest showing and learning with the horses you have, and take the time to find out what you really want by looking at what you see at the shows. It can take a few years to really get an "eye" for what you want... they are addictive and it's so easy to keep on adding to your herd! But take it slow, it'll reward you in the long run I think.
At any rate, enjoy your new horses!

Welcome to the fun world of minis!! Now you have me wondering what the other minis in the package are!!! We all love to see photos.
Since your boy is a pinto, you could register him with the Pinto Association (www.pinto.org). If there are any pinto shows in your area, they are a great way to get involved with showing, especially if you want to experience all the things you can do with minis. Plus they are fun!! I agree, try to take it slow and figure out what your goals are - and there are so many goals to pick from!!
