My daughter is actually looking for a puppy, and has narrowed it down to these two breeds. Doesn't have to be purebred (she'd take mine who is a cross of the two in a heartbeat LOL). Pros, cons of either breed?

The cons of the Mini/Toy Aussie is that most people breeding them are the back yard breeder variety, meaning they aren't doing the proper health screening and testing to make sure YOU are getting a healthy puppy.

I don't know much about Papillions, but I recommend you check out their club webpage. Finding a breeder who is a member of the breed club and adheres to their ethical standards is a good start. http://www.papillonclub.org/indexmain.htm

If purebred isn't a priority, try looking for breed rescues near you. You can also check Petfinder.com. Good luck!
