What is better lots of bedding or not so much?? I have 3 very piggy boys and was wondering what is actually better for messy guys? (My donkey is so neat - she poops and pees in 1 small corner - I rarely have to totally redo her stall. The boys on the other hand have to get redone (everything out and new in) all of the time. Thanks

We had one in the barn last year who was clipped that was a real pig to keep clean. l tried a big corner with bedding and the rest just matts for him to eat of but that didn't work well for him he would do both wherever he happened to be standing and if he peed on the matt that was a big wet mess that got slippery. So we had no choice but to make his stall about a foot tall with bedding shavings on the bottom and straw on top and just stripped it once every few days. We did clean as we saw a mess because he'd also lay down for a nap on the soggy poopy stuff so we were pretty happy to get him out of the barn. Most of the ones put in the barn are real good and use a corner as a bathroom but every so often there's a slob in the batch this year we don't plan on keeping this one in again seemed it was more work to keep him and his surroundings clean then being outside 24/7 with a coat on in his paddock with his hut. l don't know yet how to train them to go in one place even leaving a nice pile of mare poop didn't help this guy.

My filly and Mare are pigs. My gelding is so neat it's scary, he's the chicken out of all of them.

My stallion is a NEAT FREAK he burries his poop. We have to dig to find it.hahahahah I have had some messy girls but most of mine go in one spot in the back of their stalls.

Are your boys stalled together or seperate? We have found out they are much neater when alone. When they have a buddy they are too busy pushing each other around to keep a tidy room.

We have 2 girls that love to poop on their window sills. We have not figured out why yet. It does not matter whether the window is open or not. It just looks strange the piles sitting up there.

Most of the others do it in the same spot. All of our boys are pretty neat. The can stack their piles pretty high. They even do this when outside.
