I put some of my dogs on Petfinder the other day and immediately got 2 obvious scam emails. Then I get this one this morning in my bulk email and I'm just unsure about it

The only thing that sends up red flags is that there is no mention of the type of pet that she's wanting (I also put some cats on there). Let me know what you think, please!

*** I want to adopt your pet as part of my family***Hello Friend.

I'm very much interested in adopting your pet to my

humble home. I'm us citizen. I live at delray beach FL,  but

presently in ontario canada to accept a job offer with the

american christain missionary as a clerk. I'm happily

married with a kid. I want to re-home your pet as part of my

family. I lost my most adorable pet some couple of days ago

on the way to the Vet clinic, the tragedy was so painful for

me to bear as a pet lover, so i need yours in replace to

minimise the lost. I assure you a 100% loving forever home

for your pet and i want you  to consider the pet sold to a

pet lover. Pls, briefly tell me these: adoption fees, mode of

feeding, present health condition, breed. I have a

recommendable pet transpoter that will come for the pick-up

right from your home. I'll have to act fast about the

payment, so forward your name, address and your phone number

for onward payment.

I'll send a check or "MO" which'll cover the adoption

fees + $50 as reward offer for the up bringing of the pet +

the shipping fees.

Daniela dash cares for your pet.
I'm thinking scam, maybe?

Wouldn't touch that with a TEN FOOT POLE.

I agree Steph...definately a scam. If they were on the "up and up", they would have inquired about the breed etc. BEFORE saying they would take your pet.

The fact that they keep saying "pet" instead of dog, and the phrase " I lost my adorable pet "instead of Cat/Dog- also the grammar is strange- it's not whether it is correct or not, it is just strange- all put up HUGE red flags for me- flipping nuisance, aren't they?? Pity there isn't a "Scammer Spray" like fly killer!!

LOL, wouldn't that be wonderful!

I would also invest in "Stray Spray" for all of the stupid stray dogs that I have here. They've kept me up all night for the past week, with my dogs barking at them. I wish I could catch one in particular that has a collar and put a note on him for his owners to keep him home before I start doing the 3 S's

I figure that if I can keep 10+ dogs at home, they can keep one home

Thanks y'all! I thought it was odd, but not the normal scammer email that I've read about. Fizz, you're right, the grammer is just "off".

I got one very similar to that about a horse that I have advertised, only mine had a PS attached that more or less said that they could take better care of my horse than I do. If I wasn't worried about her care and where she goes, she would probably already have a home, she's been advertised for a year (full-size horse).

SCAM SCAM SCAM. This is what cought my attention :

"I live at delray beach FL, but

presently in ontario canada to accept a job offer with the

american christain missionary as a clerk. I'm happily

married with a kid."

The job offer that they refer to makes me really wonder - when they refer to their child as a "kid." Not to mention all of the other things that have been pointed out.

I'm going to agreee with the others...this is a scam.

Poor grammar is usually a sign that it's either a teenager or someone who doesn't speak English as a first language (which many spammers don't).
