Do any of the dog shows having any classes for neutered dogs. We in the mini world have classes for

gelding. I feel Jerry Lee is an awesome G/S and I might consider showing him if they have classes that

accept neutered dogs. He is AKC registered and by showing him I feel it would support the breeder

somehow. Does anyone know what the rules are?

You can do most of the AKC events (performance), just not conformation, as I understand it. I saw your pictures of him and Jerry Lee is beautiful!

You can't show him in AKC conformation, but do look into showing him in performance! There are many events to consider, from Schutzhund, Agility, Rally O, Obedience, Herding, etc. That would be a wonderful thing for him, fun for the family and definitely promotional for his breeder.

No.

Dog shows were originally intended to be a method to compare and improve breeding stock.

You are allowed to show a neutered/spayed animal however at breed specific specialty shows

in the Veterans Class (7 years and over).

There are so many other activities you can enjoy at the shows though, as previously

mentioned. By participating in one of these, you could get a feel for whether or not you

like going to dog shows and you could watch the conformation. You may decide you like

it enough to go out and buy another show quality dog, and after you have been watching

what is winning in your area you would have a better idea of what to buy.
