Well her first birthday was June 9th and she is turning into a lovely wee lady! I included some progression pix of our sweet little dwarf girl here starting with a three week old pix sent to us by her breeder (and permission to post), before we adopted her. I think she would be a good candidate for a horsey commercial of "you've come a long way baby!". Dolly is truly a doll and we love her to bits! She is also a *Magic Shoes* success story! Thank you so much Janell!! we LOVE you!!

Her coat is finally looking like normal horsey hair as it was much more like sheep wool for a very long time, very dense and curly. She had her first clip a few days ago and I was surprised at what I found underneath :new_shocked: Last year we thought she would be a silver dapple, then this year she seemed to be leaning towards a silver bay as she had all the med/drk grey points underneath coming out, now I have no idea! Any thoughts on what is happening?? She does have appy lip and privates markings and Dad is a pintaloosa. Your input and thoughts are appreciated.

June 3-2007 Now we have caramelly red underneath and platinum long, instead of long red! Dark grey short hair underneath long hair on ears, muzzle, and lower legs.

The same day, after her first clip :new_shocked: The close up shows some of the darker spots on her back. She also has some of these on her neck near her mane and a couple on her face.

: So guys, any ideas on her coat in progress?? I'm just curious as I have never had a horse change colors and textures so many times. However, whatever she ends up as, Dolly is, and will always be, one loved little dwarf girlie!

She looks VERY healthy now! I never would have imagined from seeing her 3 week old pics that her legs would end up as straight as they are. And Wow! All those changes in color and texture! She's like a camelian (sp?)! She's a little "doll" for sure!

You said her daddy had appy in him so I would guess she is a varnish roan appy

DITTO! I was also thinking of a chamelian (sp?).......She looks wonderful! In addition to the suggestion made of varnish roan appy, she also seems to have Sabino working on her possibley?

She is sooo cute! She has come a long way!! Way to go! :aktion033:

Im guessing that she is some type of roan??

Wow! She looks awesome! You are an angel for taking her and making her part of the family/

Oh my gosh! You truly are an angel for your devotion to this little one. I cannot believe she is the same horse. Her legs look great and she's a beauty.

Congratulations! Happy Birthday, Dolly!! :aktion033:

What a beautiful little girl, you must be very proud of her, and she is so lucky to have someone to love her like you.

Thank you so very much for all your kind words and thoughts. Dolly is a sweet, sassy, silly, smoochable little girl and we sure do love her. I am going to research varnish roan appy a bit and I do not know much about sabino either so will look at that too. Thank you everyone! Your comments and thoughts are so appreciated

:new_shocked: WOW, that is amazing to see how good her legs became with the proper care she received! :aktion033: As for her color, she looks like a silver bay roan to me.

I am not seeing Sabino but id say some sort of roan for sure,

Gracie, Little Magic Shoes are specially made shoes by Janell Jensen in TX. Here is a link to her site. http://www.littlemagicshoes.com The photos and stories are remarkable and very inspiring! Her Little Bit was the start of it all. Janell's shoes made all the difference for Dolly and another dwarf filly we have recently adopted will be getting a pair as well. Dolly wore three shoes. Here's a look at one on her back foot last September. Dolly has been barefoot and fancy free for several months now :aktion033:
