Ok, this really is totally a weird question, but I would like to know.

I see at shows so many people blanketing up there horses, all in different wears, some just a sheet, some a sheet and thick blanket.

My question is why?? Why do you put certain sheet and/or blanket on your horse at shows BESIDES keeping them clean?

Keeping them clean is enough reason. LOL

They also need to stay warm enough after having most of their hair shaved off, and they are cute blanketed. Maybe other reasons?????? but this is enough for me.

Some use a sheet and a blanket for horses who will get the sheet off. The blanket helps to keep them from getting the sheet off. If its warm we just use a sheet. Sheets also polish the hair and make it lay down.

We use sheets to keep them clean. During the spring time shows and fall shows(It is Maine weather afterall

), you'll see my horses with a blanket over their sheets for warmth. We went to an AMHR show in mid/late May this past year and I am glad I put a winter blanket for each horse in the trailer. It was FREEZING out and the barn they stayed in overnight was pretty open and not warm. I do have a mare who doesnt/cant sweat, so she ends up in just a fly sheet for the summer shows. It's nice and airy for her, but keeps the shavings off her for less cleaning work in the morning.
