Step back, take a deep breath and just let things settle. Maybe its time to give all this measuring stuff a rest for a bit. Maybe let everyones minds settle a bit and take it all in.

I want all registries to do well AMHA, AMHR, ASPC.

I wish we could all work together and stop tearing each other down in each registry and here online

I look out the window and see my 28" 2 year old cody one of the smallest we ever bred. And I cant suppress the smile he gives me every single day, he has no idea that he is the smallest. Just ask him!! And then I see patches and all of her 46 inches of glory standing so statuesque and proud standing guard over "her" herd, and feel my heart swell again.

Then I see all the unborn foals moving in the mares bellies and I get so excited that I think I cant stand the wait to meet these new personalities!

This is what its really all about. The joy of owning these guys every single day and what they teach us. Show season is so short, registry rules will come and go, board members will come and go. But the horses will still be here regardless of what they measure or where they are measured.

Kay you are so right!!

Ah...KAY....I agree 110%...just being in the barn is what its all about for me.

I wouldn`t trade this experience for anything!!

I agree, what happen to just enjoy your horses and be thankful you have them....

My feeling is, if you feel so strongly about it then make it known to your directors or go to the meetings. Fighting about it here won't help.

AGREED!

I just clipped down my new boy, I knew he was gorgeous before I clipped him, but SHEESH, I was not expecting what was actually under there!, I took a step back after and said "You are one HOT mini!" and then my sister burst out laughing behind me! I have to change his reg. papers when I send them in now too, He was registered as a sorrel pinto with a flaxen mane and tale...Nope! He's actually a Silver bay!

lol Its times like these that are important!

Cheers

It really doesn't matter where we measure or how it's done, what matters is that we all measure up to being great horse Moms and Dads! We should all step back and take a good look at what's in our pastures and barns and thank God every day for allowing us to be the caretakers of these awesome little creatures!

Heading out to the barn to love up on the guys and gals since I haven't seen them in a week
default_wub.png

Sometimes I forget how happy they make me and I take it for granted but when I havent seen them for a week my heart flutters and I feel so relaxed when I see them
default_wub.png
Im always stressing about showing and competeting and buying tack .. But really its all about the commitment and love we have for them

I so know what you are talking about

Am recovering from gall bladder removal surgery and my hubby is

doing most of the work around the house as I'm only allowed to pick up a milk carton - nothing heavier.

When I went outside the day before yesterday to see Saber he was so gentle with me.

His eyes were rimmed with wrinkles of concern and he stood motionless so I could give him some love.

Later that day I went out to put his coat on and he walked right up to me and stood motionless again.

It is so obvious he can tell I've got owwies.

When he sees me here and there now he whickers in excitement

as if he's glad to see me.

I so miss being able to do everything with him - cleaning his pen, letting him sit in my lap and just hugging the stuffing out of him.

It'll be a long 6 weeks.

Saber is such a gem!

I sympathize with the Gall Bladder surgerY! I feel for you!!

I so agree with the sentiments on this thread. The best part of my day is heading out to the barn after work, and in a few months, that will be my main job!! I can't wait.

Kay, I am in total agreement with you. No matter what goes on in either registry, its the horse that is keeping most of us in this game. But the sad thing is only 12 posts on how much we love our horses and several entire threads with several pages still complaining. Guess some people will complain no matter what.

You said it Kay!

That's just the way I feel!

I just came in from giving them all lots of lovies!

I know that "spot" that is mentioned and I was not measuring it

on my horses, I was itching it, just the way they like!

Petting all my horses, my heart swelled with love and pride and as always, the LOVE is what it's all about to me! Always was, always will be.

You are right nothing beats the antics of our horses big or small. Nothing can cheer up my day more.

But that is also why we as a group are all so passionate about our registries. Sometimes we do have to look for what we all have in common the love of our horses instead of all the differences.

Cheers to that one!!

It doesn't matter to me who won what, which one placed better than the other one, who's trained to do what, which registery they're with. It's all about the LOVE

!!!!! They don't care what goes on with their registeries. All they want is to make you happy and for you to give them attention. Just going out to the barn is the best part. The two of mine like to be right in your face giving kisses and hugs. What more could a person ask for!!?? I hope things settle down and we can all go back to just loving the ones we have no matter how big or small they are!!

I did not reply to anything that was said about the measuring. I feel this isn't the place for all of that. We here, all love all of our little four-legged friends from the littlist puppy to the biggest work horse or whatever. When they are sick and/or hurting it really doesn't matter what size they are. what matters is that we put our arms around them and give them the same love they give us.

Thanks, Kay, for reminding us that life is short--go hug your babies.

I couldn't have said it better myself Kay! I am with you 100%!!!

Without my miniature horses........who don't really care how tall or short they are......I would probably be locked up in a nut house somewhere. When troubles get me down, I can hug my horse...or horses because they all come runing and know that I am loved regardless of distortions from surgeries or other problems that have come up in my life.

MinimomNC I so agree with you...rather talk about the love than the politics, but if rules are going to be made or changed we as members should get involved.
