Still pregnant

I had my 39 week appointment and all went well. I lost a pound since last week - which happens when you get close to giving birth - so my total pregnancy weight gain is 11 lbs. I'll come out of the hospital weighing less than I did when I got pregnant!

The doctor - who is a lovely South African man - said I feel like I'm 40 weeks along and that he'd be surprised if I made it to my due date. Yay!

I asked how big he thought she is and he guessed between 7.5 and 8 lbs. - which I'm happy about. I was sure I was going to have a giant freak baby as I was a big baby and so was my brother. Hubby was only 7 lbs. 14 oz., so hopefully she'll take after his size rather than mine.

Everything else was good. We're all hoping I'll go into labour this weekend, as the doctor is not on call or otherwise occupied and my brother-in-law is not working and would be able to look after all the chores and calving. However, we all know that babies don't come when it's convenient! Speaking of which, it's supposed to blizzard here tonight with up to 15 cm of snow (about half a foot) ...

I also got my club's newsletter printed today, so tonight I will be busy stapling and folding and envelope stuffing. Once that is done, I can go into labour anytime as far as I'm concerned!

:aktion033: Good report!! Hmmmm, have you looked into the different old wives tales about how to start labor? Some of them are kinda fun

: I was about to try jumping on a trampoline to get my 3rd child out!! LOL!! Fortunately for me, my Dr. was great and allowed me to induce (it was what was right for my situation and she'd been my doctor through 5 pregnancies so she knew me pretty well).

How exciting, Jenn! Thank you for the update, you have been in my thoughts.

Can't wait for the story of her birth, pictures, name announcement, the whole nine yards, so to speak! Oh, and those weight estimates are only so accurate! *LOL*

Colton was told to be 4 lb. 6 oz or thereabouts, and he was 5 lb., 3 oz. They've been off almost a lb. either side on all three of mine.

I hope he's right!

Hey I gained 60 pounds too :new_shocked: never lost them either as a matter of fact I found even more.

Hey who says back back labor is easier :new_shocked: I was begging for a c section but they said NO.

Oh I better stop now before I scare Jenn, don't know if this is her first one??

My first and last decided they were too lazy to come out. So I was induced for those after being 2 weeks after my due date. First one weighed 9lbs 10oz and last one weighed 9lbs 10.5oz. The middle one was almost exactly on time and she weighed 9lbs 5oz.

The good news is that if you add up all my labors together, you get 10.5 hours. 5 for the first one, 3 for the second one and 2.5 for the last.

Ummm... talk about intense!

One of mine,...I cant remember which one,...I think it was Katie,....

anyways,..we were on our way to the hospital,....i was 5 minutes apart,.....(I always waited till the last gunfire,..LOl) ,...and it was after midnight,....and our headlights on the car,...DIED!!!!,...we had to go by the street lights only,..and we were in between towns sooo,.there wasnt a lot of street lights,...We made it though! WHEW!!!!!! LOL

It wont be long now dont worry. And those weight estimates arent right at all when I was pregnant with raven they told me she would be a HE and that she would be 9lb pounds I was scared to death that is a big baby but she was 7 lbs and all was well.

I hardly gained anything with my first and started pregnancy a size 5 came out of the hosptial a size 3 it was WONDERFUL however.. very short lived once I got pregnant with raven well lets just say she made up for her sister and then some :new_shocked:
