I'd like to thank those who have checked up on me after I was so ill at Mini Nationals. It was a LONG and MISERABLE trip home for me - ponies did great!

For everyone's info - the doctors here in NC don't think I had the Stomach Flu bug nor was I contagious - based on all the symptoms I had and the order they appeared in. They are concerned - a full set of blood panel "stuff" has been started, an abdominal exray and ultra-sound were done. They are happy that I have no fever - but upon palpation I present w/ extra/severe pain over both the gall bladder and the appendix! (Heck if I can tell - I just hurt!!!) My hubby wanted to know about the "alien" - the distention of my poor tummy still showing after 2 long days of fast hiway pull offs & hillside visits! I'm currently on anti-nausea pain meds meant for cancer patients (it's icky - but it works!).

While I admit to working on eating correctly and losing weight - the 20 lbs that were lost in less than a week have the doctors UPSET too! And I have no desire to lose weight this way ever again,

They are happy that I managed to keep myself basically hydrated - we'll see how my own electrolyte levels turn out. I know that I was craving salt yesterday while driving at one point...

I finally got to meet some great people that I have been in contact with for years and others have recently met online thru this forum and others or purchased ponies from. There were others I wanted to meet that I just didn't connect with. I wish I could have been around a little more - but I missed my own filly's regular halter class due to this "bug" and all of Thursday and most of Friday is "lost". I can certainly say that I will never forget my first Nationals - or rather the lack of the chance to experience it!

Oh that is rough! I hope you feel better soon. Nationals is a tough place to get sick. Sorry you didn't have a fun experience for your first time there. Hope next year is a way better time.
