The Olympics!

OK, I can't be the only one here who is an Olympic fanatic. I love them, summer or winter (of course, the summer games have an edge since they have equestrian events). The song, daaa daaaa da da da da daaaa, da da da, da da da da te da da daaaa..... makes me tear up every time it comes on. I've had to make a bargain with Darrin to give me unrestricted access to the TV when the Olympics are on, and not complain. He was in bed by 8 last night. I, on the other hand, was up until midnight watching. I'm exhausted!

My favorite winter sport used to be figure skating, but watching last night, I realized that even with the new judging system, it seems tainted to me. I love speed skating (we won a gold last night!) and downhill skiing, heck they all look fun. It's such a thrill watching these athletes at the top of their game. I really admire them.

So, am I the only bleary-eyed, sleep-deprived one here?

:new_shocked: Me too. Had a discusion with my roomie because next week is Westminsteer dog show. I said that I 'm glad we don't have cable to have to make the decission which to watch. She said I'd watch the dog show but I'm not so certain, After all the dog show is yearly but the Olympics are only on every 4 years.

I watched some of the figure skating.....what happened that the US pair was in first and then they got knocked down ...waaayyy down? I think their program was unbelievable. The other two pairs that got the 1st and 2nd were not in synch with each other. Their spins were off timing etc...and to me their programs were ho-hum. That kinda blew it for me right there. Yes wonder why the different strategy in the judges voting. I'm not thrilled.

The only things I don't watch are the hockey, and curling.

I think the judging for figure skating is still cookey, they are still playing favorites

Yep I like the figure skating and ice dancing.......not so much the skiing but I do like the jumping part of the skiing.....

Does anyone know when they are airing the half pipe snow boarding? I want to watch "the flying tomatoe"......that guy rocks and he is an awesome skate boarder as well.........

Yup, bleary eyed here too! I enjoy most of the games. I haven't figured out the new scoring system for Figure skating yet but it seems like it should be more objective instead of so political.

Well I love the olympics but this year is special. Michele Kwan(SP?) is hurt and will probaly drop out so the next lady comes and if something happens to her then a girl from MY HOME TOWN THAT I AM FREINDS WITH WILL BE COMPETING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eh. We watched the Winter X Games, does that count? I much prefer the summer games (for the equestrians) and am now looking forward to Westminster...
