I believe Bond Tiny Tim (who was a Dwarf) was supposed to have been 19"- I am not sure if this is the truth- ie verified, or an exaggeration.

Wow! :new_shocked: I just measured how big that would be and that's tiny! Wow! Smaller than an average dog! :new_shocked:

Mini Horse Lover

One of the reasons I question it!! My average foal height is 18" and that is small enough.

The smallest I have at the moment is 26" but he is only two, not full grown.

The smallest mare I have is 271/2" full grown.

We measure to the whithers, not the "last hair of the mane"

Our smallest full grown horse is W W Miniatures Heza Silver Star! He stands 25" at 5 years old! He's the son of National Champion 26 3/4" NFC's Quicksilver

I have a colt who measured 24.5 at the top of withers as a long yearling......he hasn't grown and I have no idea what he measures at last hair of the mane because I don't like that measurement and stink at trying to get it :bgrin :bgrin he is a shrimp...we refer to him as the 2 foot tall horse and our pygmy goat is the 1 foot tall goat

World's Smallest Horse as of September 2001.

Black Beauty was born June 6, 1996 as was an astonishing dwarf miniature horse from birth. Too small to nurse from her mother, her mother would lie down to feed her. At birth it was apparent that she was the world's smallest living horse and possibly the smallest horse in the world that ever lived. She was less than 12 inches tall at birth, weighing less than 10 pounds. She was small enough to fit into a coat pocket.

Black Beauty is exceptionally friendly and always knickers to say hello. She also likes to come into the house and enjoys watching television (Westerns are her favorite) and sharing popcorn. She also enjoys sitting in your lap and being rubbed.

To qualify as the world's smallest horse, Guinness Book of Records required that she be inspected by a Vet and be carefully measured for height by independent witnesses to confirm her status as the world's smallest horse.

Black Beauty is a dwarf miniature horse and at age five years-old currently measures on 18.5 inches tall (at her withers) and she is clearly the world's smallest horse, and the smallest horse in recorded history according to the Guinness Book of Records.

If you do a Google on Black Beauty, I think you may well be appalled!!

One of the problems with allowing Dwarfs into the Guinness book of records is that it encourages this sort of exploitation. Maybe we should lobby them not to stop the Dwarfs as they quite clearly are Horses and have a right to be in this section, BUT to split the section into "Smallest NON- Dwarf and Smallest Dwarf"??? That way we could also maybe ask them to include a small header about the problems of Dwarfism

I know someone that had the smallest dwarf I had ever seen. She was 12" at birth. She was less than 18" when she passed. Guinness book would not take her as she was not yet 2 yrs old.

She was however, VERY much loved by her owners.

The smallest normal foal I have had was 16" at birth.

Not offended at all... Look up in the AMHA Kobeck's Lil Coffee Cake he has sired foals and was gelded by previous owners before I got him.....I have a dwarf and have friends who have dwarfs and they have come and looked at him and NOPE he's NOT a dwarf....He is tiny and VERY FAT and we are trying to get him into shape for Kasey to show at local shows....He has a pretty petite head with really small ears...and is really is a nice kind guy for my 10 yr.old daughter....No offence taken here...everyone has their opioion
