My living situation has become very un-stable. My aunt and uncle have decided to sell this house and move to a smaller place very soon. We can't put our house on the market in New Hampshire until April. Then we still don't know how long it will take to sell, so I am selling 2 of our horses. Velvet, my Arab mare and Cleo, her half Andalusian daughter. It will be easier for us to find a place to rent here with 2 big horses and the minis. So we are keeping David's horses, Bein & CJ and Loren's 2 horses, Rocky & Slick. I ma so sad to see mine go, but I feel it is for the best right now.
Velvet and Cleo have been on the market now for 2 weeks.
A lady cam out today with her husband to see Velvet. We were having a rain and wind storm, but I trailered Velvet to the public fair grounds to meet them. There was several school buses there and the parking lot was full of cars and water. I unloaded Velvet into a puddle. I met the lady and her husband they had brought an Arabian saddle with them to ride her in. It was pouring rain so we saddled in the covered arena. Velvet was very excited but manageable, as usual. I rode Velvet for a few minutes first and she was fine, so I let Leslie ride. She did not ride with a helmet. Bad girl!
Velvet was hot and fast and tossed her head a lot, but no one has ridden Velvet but me. Leslie rode her just fine though and rode her through water puddles and past the open gait and everything. No problems. The followed us back home and she put half down as a deposit on her. They will pick her up in a few weeks. They are working on their barn right now. Velvet will be a trail horse and brood mare and also Leslie's daughters horse. Leslie did not bicker about the price or anything. She wants her. I am happy about that. Her mare died 2 weeks ago that she had since age 2, at 25 from colic. She spent $4,000 trying to save her mare. I think Velvet will have a good home with her.
Now I just need to sell Cleo.
On another note, I took our little dog Tonka, to the vet. He has lymphoma cancer. It is very advanced, My family is just heart broken over it. David and I got him a year after we got married. He is 13.
