What are your plans for memorial day weekend?

We're going on a "mini vacation" about 5 hours away to visit our horse at the trainer and grab some driving lessons, then Monday we'll probably grill something outside and take Colton to run around grandmas field with his swing set and cottage (His favorite place in the world, he can run about an acre in any direction he wants before we start chasing him).

Tomorrow we will be getting my grand sons' mini bathed and ready for his 4-h show that is on Sunday. then on Sunday we will go to the show and when I get home I'll work on the farm as I do every day. Have fun on your trip.

Have fun - sounds like a great "mini" vacation.

Here - no different than usual except that we get an extra day home due to the holiday. Still have 5 mares to foal and 2 are very close so we're planted here.

Gonna cut and bale more hay, got a new huge sprayer to put on the back of the polaris to drive and spray Round-Up all around the fence lines, barn to clean and office to clean, scrub out some water tanks, want to clip more babies and get more photos, mow grass, and put up a new pasture fence to move some horses around so we can mow and fertalize the pasture they come out of. Oh, and can't forget bush hogging. Perhaps we'll get one lazy evening to throw a fishing pole or two in the pond and relax some but not holding my breath LOL We take advantage of our time on the farm every weekend since we work full time - but there's no other place I'd rather be than right here. Tuesday will come too soon to return to work LOL

Of course if we have a baby or two this weekend, we'll be busy with that ontop of everything else.

My vacation actually starts on the 29th of this month (I have Mon/Tues off)...I will be off for 10 days including my 2 sets of weekends. I have so many plans don't know if I'll fit it all in, but I'm going to try...lol. We plan on going up to our camp by a huge lake which is about an hr and a half from our house starting Sunday night (we love it there and plan to retire there in the summers, only 8 years to go..woohoo)...We will spend a day on the lake up there on the boat on Monday with our friends...Tuesday we are taking our smaller aluminum boat to a lake about 6 miles away, it is a chain of 7 lakes that only a smaller boat can get through all the different lakes. We will be fishing and swimming with the dogs. Wed/Thurs we are taking our new motorhome to a campground about an hr away from our camp on a river that also has trout ponds, we just got our motorhome about a month ago and have yet to use it, I've been scrubbing and detailing it and now it's all ready to go...we will fish there and just relax. Back to camp on Friday for cart riding in the woods with some friends. Sat we will be floating the Muskegon River on our rafts. Sun back on the boat again but a lake below the lake that our camp is by. Monday another lake w/our smaller boat and Tues another cart ride. Wednesday back home where I will be recuperation, cutting grass and cleaning house. Thurs back to work...I think I'm going to need a vacation after my vacation...lol. I so need this time off...work has been very hectic and my Father has been very sick...I've been so stressed lately...hope the weather cooperates for all my plans. Thanks for reading my itinerary! We love to boat/fish and our dogs will be with us the whole time.

Memorial day and 4th of July are my favorite holidays! Everyone be safe.

Nothing happening here...but 'our' holiday weekend was last weekend....and was not a particularly good one this year

A weekend, holiday or not, is no different to me...I work when there's work, and when there's not, I get caught up on what I can

Hope everyone has a safe Memorial day weekend

Big weekend - and next 2 weeks for me! Leave tomorrow 6 AM for Portland Oregon for a 6 days in the Northwest with hubby for our 10th Anniversary! Home next Friday, then fly out Saturday to Munich Germany for work, come home the following Friday, family reuinion Saturday!

Then finally get a week to "relax" before horse shows start again!

I LOVE summer!!!!

I'm leaving very early in the morning for The Celebration of Champions Show. It will be my "Buff" filly's first show. I can't wait to see both Buffy and Hawk and give them big hugs. We will be there until Monday and then we will need to get back and get the lawn mowed.

I hope everybody has a safe & wonderful holiday weekend.

Nothing big on this weekend, but of course here it is not a long weekend. Our May long weekend was last weekend--and it was a rather crappy weekend as far as weather went--cloudy, rainy and cool. I had 2 extra days off work, so 5 days at home--just got caught up on a bunch of stuff, still have lots more to do.

This weekend--trimming feet, doing some gardening, should mow some lawn and of course have show ponies to work with; our first show is just a week & a half away now. Have some clipping to do, but won't likely tackle that this weekend--will do that later in the week or next weekend.

We had a big family party planned but it's all in the toilet now. We had to take our 37 year old son to the ER Wednesday night. (He, his wife, and kids live on the farm next to ours, but she couldn't get him into the car so called us). He's still in the hospital and will be there at least until Tuesday, so I guess we'll all just be visiting him there. Not much fun for anyone, but there's nothing we can do about it.

My weekend is going great so far, got up at 3:30 this morning to do chores before taking my Grand son and his three minis' to his first 4-H show of the season. He won second in the mare class against all the quarter horses, and first in pony out of five. He let one of his friends show his other gelding, she is blind in one eye and partially blind in the other, and she got fourth out of six. I love him so and of course am a proud Nana! Thought about posting pictures but then I thought it might be too much.

Weebuiscut, sorry to hear your son is in hospital, hope things improve soon, wishing him a speedy recovery!

Congratulations to you and your grandson! I took my then-five year old granddaughter to an open class local "fun" show three years ago. She showed one of my minis and got a second in halter, (against all the big horses, like your grandson), and I almost cried I was so happy for her. She was just walking on air! We let her keep the little trophy, and she's so proud of it!

Grandkids are truly the payback we get for having put up with our own kids! LOL! You are establishing a firm foundation in memories for him, and he will never forget you. I only have six grandkids, aged from 21 to 3, and I know there won't be any more!
